Uh... actually, no. The "Cerberus Network" is just the name BioWare chose to give to the in-game DLC management service. It's no different than the "Downloadable Content" tab in the DA:O options menu, albeit probably a bit flashier. It's been repeatedly stated that the Cerberus Network Card that ships with all new copies of ME2 grants "free access to exclusive Day One content" ala the Stone Prisoner DLC and the free redemption cards that shipped with each new copy of DA:O. Every subsiquent DLC released after launch will have a fee attached, regardless whether you have a Cerberus Network Card or not. The Card only grants you free access to the one launch day DLC. Meaning if the Hammerhead is NOT launch DLC (which the article clearly points out it ISN'T), it likely WILL have a fee.

So perhaps it is YOU who should learn to read, lest you mouth off about that which you know not to those who know more.

Perhaps you should listen to your own advice when telling someone how little they know.  Had you more thoroughly read the article ( www.ea.com/news/bioware-unveils-the-cerberus-network ), you would have known that the Cerberus Network will be different from the downloadable content tab on the DA:O menu.  In addition to providing acces to DLC, there will be "daily messages and news on upcoming releases for Mass Effect 2".  The Cerberus Network is also not available for free to everyone who ever purchases Mass Effect 2, whereas the DA:O menu tab has no additional cost involved.

Since the information provided so far states that the Hammerhead will be released in a DLC pack after the launch of the game, there isn't really enough information to make any assumptions about how much it may cost to obtain.  The information given seems to indicate the pack would include additional missions and items (including the Cerberus Assualt Armor and the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun).  Until we know more about the specifics of the pack being planned, there really isn't any point in wasting energy debating how obvious it is that the second DLC pack will be free or not (or even to make baseless assumptions regarding its possible cost).

All having the Hammerhead as DLC does is illustrate how completely unimportant the thing is in the grand scheme of things. Here BioWare was going on about how they improved the Mako design so much and how great the new vehicle is, yet it's not significant enough to make it into the final game? That's pretty weak.

There is much truth in this post.

As opposed to news tickers and new DLC announcements at the bottom of the main menu like in ME1 . Yes, clearly so much more than a DLC tab. Like I said, flashier but ultimately that's all it is.

ehm why not just leave Hammerhead in the original game then and add any futher aditional content via DLC for it later on?
As of now it quiet obviously looks like thy removed the thing and added it to an DLC with a price tag.
Hence you got a ton of pissed of costumers, adding all the suckers that still claim / think its gonna be free

Bioware does not like to cut material to add back into the game as DLC. Some developers like to. Gears of War 2 had a section of the game cut from the final product because it slowed the game down from assault on the enemy to hiding and stealth. they released it earlier last year nearly a full year after release. i'm perfectly fine paying for some of it. I dont think that Bioware cut the hammerhead just so they can sell it to us as DLC and as some people said DLC and Dev teams work parallel to each other.

Regardless of how much value you feel the additional functionality may have, your prior comparison remains just as flawed.  Though you seem to have neglected the more important factor I was attempting to point out.  The Cerberus Network will not be something given out for free to everyone who ever buys ME 2.  So, in your terms,  that would make it a flashier and more costly DLC tab.

Well i for myself think that the Cerberus Network is a nice idee... well if i understand it correctly... In my opinion the cerberus Network will grant you some really smal dlc, for example one new waepon, for free. But you will still pay for major dlc like the hammerhead and misson packs...

Because of that i think that its fair to charge the access to the cerberus network for people that buy the game second hand. The rest of us is buying the access with the game perchase anyway. And so in fact we are all paying for the access anyway!

I enjoyed the dragon age dlc and i´m looking forward to the mass effect dlc a lot!

You wouldnt consider Shale to qualify as "cutting material to add back into the game as DLC"?  (honest question, not being sarcastic or hyperbolic)
