My game keeps freezing up during Citadel Wards: Ambush. I am at
the part where your first squad member (Ashley, in my case) comes to
you. the cutscene freezes about 5-10secs in, and I get the dialog box
from Windows saying that ME3 has stopped working. My Graphics card is a Radeon 6870, with an i5 2500 CPU with 8GB of RAM. Is anybody able to help fix this?

Try skipping through the dialogue/scene, that might be able to brute force a way around the crash.
If that doesn't work, try redownloading the DLC, could be some data corruption.

Sounds to me like your problem is software-related, so your hardware doesn't have anything to do with it.

Try to skip the cutscene, if that doesn't work, uninstall+reinstall Citadel DLC If the problem persists, uninstall+reinstall Mass Effect 3. If it still doesn't work, then I don't know what to tell you.

I couldn't work out how to uninstall just Citadel, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game.

Just tested it now, and the cut scene works fine, must have just been a problem with the original download.

However, now it seems I can't select to make a new save, and have to overwrite my older saves...

I had the same problem and sadly the only solution was to reinstall the whole game because the problem lies in corrupted files during download.
