So, I'm in the lower ruins of brecilian forest and I'm at the part where there are a ton of skeleton archers and a ring of traps around the door. My characters are Leliana, Morrigan, and Alistair and I'm a rogue. So, I put Leliana/Morrigan/My Rogue on ranged and put them just inside the door, giving them enough rough to hit the archers without stepping on the triggers and I put Alistair on passive to stop him from charging headfirst, except it doesn't seem to work. Alistair still keeps running head first into the archers, triggering the traps, and every time I switch from my character to one of the others my rogue immediately stops firing arrows to try to Hit Below the Belt, which, of course, sets off the triggers. Am I simply doing this wrong? Or is there a trick to tactics that I haven't figured out?

What I do is use Leliana (or myself if I am the rogue). I put the rest of the party on 'hold' around the corner and then go in under cloak of Stealth disarming all the traps before bringing everyone in to fight. Once those are disarmed, remove the 'hold party' and the skeletons drop pretty easily when you have everyone join the fight using whatever tactics you prefer at that point.

Thank you for the suggestion, I didn't know about the hold. Unfortunately neither of my rogues can disarm the traps. Image IPB

Did you switch weapon on the rouge to bow ?
i think pulling is best done with ranged group behind a corner on Hold and bait with the tank,
running back near the group when followed

Temporarily disable the tactic of "Below the Belt" for your rogues. If you don't know; it is possible to 'disable' each tactic by unchecking a 'checkbox' next to it.

Then you can play Alistair two ways. Either let Alistair take the hit on the trap, then you can use a potion right afterwards if you wish. Then, if you want any other characters past the traps, just guide them over the one expended trap and let them go.

Or, set Alistair to the anti-projectile mode and set everyone on Hold. But it wouldn't work unless he has Taunt and Threaten.

Now I can't honestly say I remember this exact encounter, but it is good in theory.
