With all the art and demo focus on the Inquisitors helm I really get a "This is just like Skyrim" vibe from the game so far. Especialy if you read the comics and books about the "Dragon Blooded" and of course the Old God baby that may have happend (Gaider your fans are not going to let this one go even though the unofficial Warden died) is technicaly Dragonborn.

Is it just me or is it the similar setting?

Skyrim isn't dark enough. I'm getting a Daggerfall vibe from Dragon Age in general.

Sounds like grasping at straws to me. While their are similar elements, they aren't even connected in anyway. If all of these things were in one person, then maybe. Maybe. Seperately though, not really.

You mean Dragon age: Dragonborn :D

I'm getting the feeling that the Old God Baby that either came from Alistair or the Warden will become an important role for the next game, or perhabs the next game after that. The next new protagonist.

I hope that this will happen in the next game. I don't mind playing a one race character again.

Open world/psuedo open world rpg == its just like skyrim! Skyrim isn't even nearly reactive.

That would mean Bioware has to make the OGB canon, and they already said no to that

Meaning their default didn't do the Dark Ritual

Yep, as soon as I read the title of the series when it first came out, I knew that they were ripping off of Skyrim.

@OP - Well, it actually sounds more like you are saying that Skyrim was influenced by DA:O (which came out first).

Anyway, I'm sure Bioware and Bethesda developers have been learning from each other's games for years, which is broadly speaking a good thing.

Most of the Lore for Skyrim was made in '94-'96, m8. Shouting, Dragonborn, Alduin, Dragons, all that, was made before BioWare was even a company.

Skyrim is an open-world first person, classless fantasy RPG with little in the way of story, and no companions.

Dragon Age is a semiopen-world third person, classed based fantasy RPG with an emphasis on story and characters.

They're practically the same thing!

Wha...? Dragons aren't a very original idea, lots of people use them. But seriously comparing Skyrim and Dragon Age on like a story level is just insulting.

I want to see games inspired by Daggerfall and Morrowind.

With the right marketing, they could be really successful.

It won't as they've said over and over again the OGB won't exist outside of Imports that did the Dark Ritual and as the writer's canon is the Ultimate Sacrifice well that's that.

It won't happen as the OGB is male Morrigan flat out says it and Bioware won't remove the gender option atleast.

Those games are called Oblivion and Skyrim. They're kind of low key, indie games, so it's not weird at all that you haven't heard of them.

Well currently in promo material theres a heavy focus on the helmet, which makes me think of the heavy focus on the promo material for Skyrim since it focused on Dovahkins helmet as well.

Re:AresKeith, theres unofficial canon and it was a dalish warden doing the ultimate sacrifice instead. Its the non-overriding of players choice type of canon as thats the stance the game and other media are approaching it from.

Not to be that guy, but I don't like this. ME3 had people saying it was copying Gears of War, now there's this. Seems like a bad sign to me.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a game inspired by them that is made by a different developer.

Nope, and this the tenuous Dragonborn connection you're making is just a smidgen silly.

Same corporate umbrella.

And I don't play MMOs.

Elder Scrolls Online will be the blunder of the century.

Expect a disaster of TORtanic proportions.

It's funny, but before my recent Linux switch I had Skyrim installed and ready to play for at least six months. At the time I had a 3 monitor Eyefinity configuration that worked just fine and normally I really like sandbox games, especially if there is some sort of story to deal with. Like another game that I will not mention at this time, I couldn't get past the opening few minutes.

So many games, so little time.
