Lord Raijin. I think you have a good point. As I said before I enjoyed skyrim for a time. Later it became boring. I feel Morrowine had a better story and was more fun than skyrim in the long run. Somehow I feel that bethesda was so succesful with skyrim because of their previous titles and a good marketing campaign plus the rite time of the release. Again, this is just what I feel.

I just want to play a RP game that has quality story behind it. That isn't too hard to ask. Skyrim has a weak story, and has a cheesy soundtrack on top it off. I haven't played Morrowind yet, but I am starting to be convinced by others to get the game, and to try it out. And yes you're right. The only reason why Skyrim had a high selling pitch was because of it's title "Elders Scroll", oh and how Skyrim was so pretty looking.

What do you consider an example as a "good" story?

If you didn't like Skyrim, I doubt you would like Morrowind. Based on your comments, I feel like you would say it has a weaker story than Skyrim, since it leaves most of the gameplay, character motivations and role playing up to the player. That's more my personal cup of tea, but I'd say it better describes player agency than a good story.

So if you are looking for more player agency, Morrowing will be a great pick up. If you think Skyrim is too boring or empty, then I think you would not enjoy Morrowind. At all.

Enlighten me, what is a high quality item, because if you really believe that Skyrim is low grade you must be out of your mind. In fact, you'd be one of the few who believes this, the fact is that Skyrim was very succesful regardless of modding, whether you want to believe that or not is your business but the facts speak for themselves. Every game has its glitches, few have the scope the Skyrim does.

Perhaps, you think you could do a better job? Maybe you should code the game, build the assets, do the marketing, maybe then the "quality" will be up to your standards.

The fact is, that you didn't even give any reasons as to why Skyrim is "a complete failure", not back then and not now, all you've stated is that you're angry because you wasted money on it. If you don't like the game, then that's one thing, stop hiding behind excuses if you have nothing to say that justifies your statements.

You know what makes less sense, you played Skyrim and didn't like it but you still went ahead and bought its DLC? You'd think if you didn't like a game you wouldn't pay for anything else from that game.

According to Steam I've ranked up 998 hrs on record playing Skyrim. I've probably played close to 10 to 15 characters top; with and without mods. At the time I was thrilled over the game because of it's graphics, and how open the world was. Skyrim was my first Elders Scrolls game just as much as Dragon Age 2 was my first Dragon Age game to play, and therefor at the time I could not understand why people were bashing this game so much. Out of pure ignorance I thought it was the best damn game ever. I've took the liberty to go to Amazon to purchase an unlimited PC version of Dragon Age Origins to see what was all the fuss over. After I've installed the game onto my hard drive, and put in over 60 hours in the game, I finally understood what others were complaining about on their reviews on such gaming reviewing sites like metacritic. After playing DAO for some time, it opened up my eyes to see just how much BioWare truly screwed DA2 up.

Why do I think Skyrim was a complete and utter failure? Let me provide you with my metacritic's review on the game :)

Skyrim would've been a great game if it was in the rightful set of hands that truly had the compassion for the Elders Scrolls series. The concept of Skyrim is great, but was very poorly executed. The A.I is terrible. I thought I was in a world where I was surrounded by people who were lobotomized. The animations were poorly done. The followers are useless. Instead of them helping me out I found myself helping them out because they were being slaughtered by the enemies. Theirs simply not enough control over them. The bugs and glitches are migraine creators, and some can impact quests to which you're unable to complete. Don't bother to ask how to fix it on Bethesda's official help forums because the staffs are way to busy on other things rather than to help you with your technical support needs. On April 15, 2013 Bethesda announced that they're no longer releasing DLCs therefor leaving us with unanswered questions.. Who's the next ruler of Skyrim? What is the deal with the Thalmor? those two are the main ones that needs to be answered. Skyrim needs a well deserve ending, not to be shafted. The Storyline was OK, but not great. I know kids who can create a better story then what was presented to us. The price of this game was outrageous. NOT worth it IMO. Skyrim is an incomplete beta project that should've never been release to the public. Without mods this game would be terrible. The menu's were designed for Xbox users, not PC. Without mods this game would be unbearable to play. I'm very concern for the next Elders scrolls game under Bethesda control.

I've purchased the DLC's because I thought it would spice up my gaming experience. I gave Bethesda 2 more chances to redeem themselves.

Here's my Dawnguard review

I was disappointed in this DLC. The new appearances for the vampires are a total failure. They look like zombies, NOT vampires. The new armor was OK, but not spectacular. The story wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. The new NPC vampires in Volkihar Keep were very poorly written and designed, and so were the new NPC from the Dawnguard side, again a total failure. Is Bethesda even trying at this point? I don't think I could release this DLC or Skyrim out into the world under my companies name without getting embarrassed with shame. Like what others are saying the Mod community help saved the quality of Skyrim and their 2 DLCs from utter destruction caused by Bethesda. Skyrim, Dawnguard and Dragonborn (The new and final DLC) was a total failure, and it cost the consumer well over 100 dollars. Is it any wonder why piracy is on the rise? People are fed up with buying lemon software's with their hard earn money, and companies like Bethesda refuse to accept the responsibility by refunding their customers money back for selling glitchy/buggy software's to the public. If you still want to try this DLC wait until theirs a steam sell for half price. 20 dollars is quite expensive for this DLC

My final review for Dragonborn

When I found out that Dragonborn DLC will grant you the ability to fly dragons I went all Tom Cruise on Oprah's couch. I had always wanted to have the ability to actually fly a dragon in the sky. It was the perfect match for being Dragonborn... the new king of the dragons in Skyrim. After finishing this DLC once again I became disappointed. I had NO controls over the dragon other than to tell it to attack. If I wanted to travel I would've had to fast travel, and that's totally against my Role-playing rules. The voice acting for Miraak (The primary antagonist) was poorly done. I wish I had the option to mute this NPC and just leave the subtitles on. It's just that bad. I also stumbled across game-breaking glitches. In order for me to fix the DLC I had to download a MOD from Skyrim Nexus that did the trick. Nowhere did Bethesda ever released a patch to fix these well known issues. This clearly indicates just how little this company cares for the products that they sell to the public, and so why should I give their product a high rating when they themselves don't care? Dragonborn was rushed just like Dawnguard and Skyrim. Shame on Bethesda for ruining this potentially great game. This DLC was nowhere worth the 20 dollars. Wait for a Steam sell to purchase it.

Now after reading my 3 reviews do you understand my frustration? I do not HATE Skyrim. I'm frustrated because Skyrim is a lemon software, and the United States government provides no protection for the PC gaming consumers from software gaming companies like Bethesda. We PC gamers do not have the luxury to return games that we do not like.

As for your “If you think you could do better then maybe you should code the game” comment... I'm a consumer in the PC gaming world. I pay companies like Bethesda and Bioware to entertain me with their products. It is NOT my job to get involved in their companies. It is their job to get feedback from their fans, and take note of all of the negative reviews that they get from their clients. Do you think Bethesda read my angry reviews, and took notes of it for the next time they release another Elders scrolls game? Probably not.

I agree with everything you said Lord Raigin

No longer on topic. Skyrim, Morrowind, and other non-DAI games may be discussed in the Off-Topic forum.

End of line.
