I saw the PAX gameplay video late

But I just wanted to say it looks fantastic so far. The game looks absolutely beautiful. It just goes to show you how badly the previous consoles were crippling visuals, as game devs had to mass target the visual gutter so those anemic machines would not choke and die. Now that they are FINALLY being updated, and the new game engines are targetting something more powerful we can finally get a modern graphics look for a fantasy game.
LOVE some of the gameplay changes.
isometric camera return = YES !!!!!!
Mage power increased in the form of real world effects like that ice wall blocking arrows (my da2 mage felt powerless on demons with resists, and no damage unless setup by the other party members)
the fighting looks more tactical, less wave-like
larger more expansive world
EVERYTHING looks infinitely better.
Now I just hope the story is more expansive as well. DAO was an epic sprawling fantasy, like bg2. DA2 felt more like days of our lives in kirkwall. Based off the different locales, I can't imagine this game will be that boxed in and confind, so hope springs eternal.
If any devs are reading. Great job so far guys.

At least I did not hear "here comes another wave!". At least I did not see the hero's feet lift a foot off the ground as he delivers an overhand strike. What I did see was a giant size crossbow and an unbelieveable weapon. Oops, I almost forgot to mention a guy practising tumbling during a fight. Totally believeable, really draws me into the game. No.
Based on what I saw, this game is not for me.
I am out of here. Good-bye forum, it has been fun.

I know right. I hope they fix that, and her run animation is ridiculous. *facepalm*

Thank you for the link. I realize that it is unfair to judge a game based on such early work, but this is far, far too much like DA:2 for my taste. I did watch the video until 5:04.

Seriously...why won't this die?
Why do people keep thinking that armour actually impedes movement? If armour impeded your normal range of movement, you WILL GET HIT MORE OFTEN.
Thus, negating the point of armour in the irst place, namely, to protect the human from being injured.

The game looks visually stunning. I really liked what they were saying. I feel like Bioware's really kept their cards close to their chest on this one, and then surprised us all (or at least me) when it turned out they've been holding a pair of pocket aces.

My favorite thing so far about Dragon Age: Inquisition is that they are taking the show and don't tell approach, for they have been doing the opposite for the last couple of games and it has led to a divide between them and the players.

Did we play the same BG? BG1 was about settling accounts with that guy in the frightful black armor (been deliberately vague to not spoil it for new players) and BGII was about your rise to power. Maybe you were thinking about something else, like the greater scope and how you travel more of the fictonal world compared to DAII?
I support the other points you've made, and I like how the gameplay video showed off that we can fight in ways that are much more utilitarian than poking the bad guys with a sharp bit of metal, setting them ablaze or putting them asleep. Now we can destroy fortifcations, bridges etc, and can conjure up barricades of our own which I'll be using myself to divide groups of bad guys so I can pick some of them apart while the rest of them are cut off from the action.

My only complaint is that we've got an entire year to wait. That's just cruel.

If it is the same video where hulk cassandra smashes gates and cracks earth while sends stones flying and where mage has some strange flying spellbook, then no thanks. Do not want. It seems that with each game Bio tries to go after even younger, 'oh flashy, pew pew hack'n slash' customer base.
You can understand health bars, zombies, magic, and potions but GOD FORBID you see gate smashing and flying spell books!
Seriously if people are looking for a 1:1 translation of the laws of physics not the world of Thedas, high fantasy settings are not for them.

That, I actually have no problem with. It seems more like the Mage is keeping it afloat then the book is flying on its own. Cassandra bashing down the gates I dislike a good deal, though.
I'll probably still enjoy it, though. Just not as much as I would conventional warfare.
