Planetside 2 is also very good... finally another good futuristic shooter

I hope Bioware will 'borrow' some ideas from Battlefield and Planetside 2 for ME4MP that would just be great. I love the spawn mechanics in Planetside 2.

^^

This guy right here. I salute you good sir!

WOW! People are excited for another awful DA game...?

Yes, actually.

DA:O was a great game and pretty much universally loved. DA2 really split the camp between a majority that hated it and a minority that enjoyed it. I happen to fall into the minority that enjoyed it, overall, but still think DA:O was masterfully done and the better way to g. The fact that a lot of the noise coming out right now about DA:I makes it sound like BioWare is swinging the pendulum back towards DA:O-style makes me hopeful about DA:I.

Besides, it's literally the only next-gen game I've read about that I have any interest in whatsoever. Unless something totally under the radar comes out between now and next fall (DA:I drop window), all I have at the moment is playing ME3 MP and replaying a bunch of old favorites like DA:O, ME series SP, Skyrim, Bioshock series, and Fallout. Diablo 3 holds no interest for me, and I didn't like GTA IV, so I doubt I'd like GTA V. *shrugs*

There hasn't been a Dragon Age game or DLC so far that I didn't enjoy, I have never understood the whining.  I went back and played DA2 just this summer, still a very entertaining game.

I'm still new to the forum @ about 3 months and I find myself alternately engrossed and totally bored by what shows up.  There is usually a thread or two every day that is worth taking out on a few dates.

Sadly true OP, guess I'll have to go back to working while at work :(

All the reasons are definitely stated by all the other posters here. As mentioned by DR, I do think elitist sentiment has driven some of the funnier and more interesting posters from the forum, which is a shame .. hastening the demise. We should be encouraging people to post about their Bronze and Silver matches, just for some fresh viewpoints

I have yet to find a game that has the same re-playability as ME3MP though (Diablo 2 was close - Diablo 3 has no chance)

I guess my real question, when I come back to play the single player of ME3 in 2-3 years (for old times sake), how will I get my galactic readiness up at that point?

There are still bright spots, like INVADERONE'S solo vids (which are still informative and inspiring to some of us scrubs) and some of Reks' threads about how we feel toward the game.

This far into the game's cycle, though, most of the people frequenting BSN are the ones who invested the most time into the game.  They've had almost every conceivable argument and discussion, and everything sounds tedious.  A new player's assertions about the Geth Infiltrator will be met with the predictable barrage of self-referential jokes and tedious internet memes.  There's only a trickle of new players coming through the multiplayer forums now, so there aren't enough to create any momentum for topics previously discussed.

That said, I'm still learning from the old guard, even if the internet-meme-instead-of-actual-conversation thing disappoints me.  And the BSN'ers I play with are generally much more engaging during gaming than on the boards.  I've really enjoyed playing with them, and they have been most tolerant of my mediocrity.

@DragonRacer: I respect your opinion on DA II, and because you are an elder stateswoman around here, please take the following as my opinion-- nothing more.

I was a huge fan of Biower since KotOR (2003), and I loved the courage and independent style with which they created characters. I was a total fanboy until I heard rumors about the DA sequel being turned into a Mass Effect Hybrid. This made me cringe. This was not the choice of a company making games by their own rules, setting trends. This was a desperate, pathetic move made by a company in a financial choke-hold. I was optimistic despite my reservations and bought DAII. It was very disappointing to say the least. I doubt I need to list details. Then when my Shep was NOT available to import in ME3, this was the last straw for me. (Never mind the endings, which are hilariously bad)
I give credit to the ME3 MP team, you guys kept me playing, but as far as Biower in general, I will not pay one more $ for your products. Sad as it is, I now boycott you.

I think the forum was pretty much dead after the first, "Remember when X..." thread popped up. Now half the forum is waxing nostalgic about how the game was, 40% are giant douchebags who just want to draw attention to themselves, 5% are funny people who actually have interesting things to day, and the other 5% are new players/ new posters looking for information.

So who is doing RPG's better, in your opinion, if not Bioware...?  Or are you contending that RPG's are dead?

Nature of the beast. The support for the game is gone, so no more weekend challenges, no more balance changes, no more DLC or title updates. Things are static now with the game, so there is less and less to discuss.

Yeah, Biower still makes the best RPGs. At the time I did not visit the forums and without all the negative comments from other people I still enjoyed DA2, DA1 was clearly better though. Let us see how DA3 turns out then we will see if Bioware still got it™.

Told you I was getting old. Image IPB

But seriously, I know what he meant. Feels like I've been here since dirt, so I'm certainly a veteran, haha.

Sorry you feel that way about BioWare, Budgee, but I understand. I know you aren't the only one feeling that way as well.

When was the last time you saw Mods2-5 lock a thread around here?

Seems fine to me . Better than the other forums discussing what hairstyle suits Ashley.

I actually get inspired to try different kits with different builds when I read the various posts so keeps me from getting bored with the sameness .

Also some entertaining threads and vids occassionally worth reading/watching

Oh IDK, how bout locking a charity thread by a poster instead of moving it to another section. Another mod on the board has a similar thread in another section so I'd say BW does allow it. Or issuing warnings that WTF violates forum rules. I could go on and on and on and on and on but those are just some of the more laughably pathetic excuses for his handy work.

Mod03 usually is pretty fair IMO.

Ya'll do realize that the numbered mods are simply accounts which multiple moderator employees sign into right? That is to say, biowaremodX is not an individual, it is an account used by multiple different people. You probably see mod01 locking the most threads because when only one employee is logged on they are biowaremod01.

At least that's what I saw Raenimaril saying a little while ago.

I think everything about this game has been discussed end everything worth saying has been said.

Last things posted here that I remember as somewhat noteworthy were in no particular order:

-The incredible 6.43 plat speedrun record
-Incinerate-Incendiary ammo glitch discovered (aka Incinerate doesn't suck)
-Heldarions amazing Gold speedruns with the GI
-some other things I don't remember right now...

But in general this place is just filled with lame troll- or e-peen threads, or some noob asking questions that a 2 minute google search would answer. I've been reading this since operation shieldwall and learned a lot, but lately I rarely find anything interesting. That is noones fault, the game is just getting really really old.
