I would allow my Arishok decide my fate. Since I'm part of the Qun I've got no say so in my career.
That is not his role. The Tamassrans decide the professions of all Qunari.

I'd leave the Qun rather quickly then lead a justifiable, ideological war of annihilation against it.
What do people have against the Qun. I mean it's not the greatest system imaginable but it's head and shoulders above anything else being offered. It is a society without bigotry, where you are only judged by what you do rather than where you're from or who your parents are. It is the only society where true social mobility exists rather than the illusion of mobility. Best of all, to me anyway, it is a society where the egos of individuals are not valued above the well being of others.

That being said - there would be no place for me in the Qun.

But to be serious. As someone who likes the qunari (I find them infinitely more interesting than the generic elves and dwarves of the setting) their society can look a bit unpleasant. Especially with the zeal they show for it.
But this is also the same world where the other major religion has led a genocidal crusade or two of its own. And where another practices blood rituals on its slave population. While the dwarf population is killing itself with its own rigid and inflexible caste system.
I won't even mention the Dalish because their society isn't worth placing with Tevinter, the Chantry, or Orzammer.
This funnily enough, makes the qun more appealing to me from a roleplaying point of view.
They also have mastered the art of sanitation. So at least if you live in a qunari city you won't be wallowing in your own filth my friends.

Nah... the mages are not really people, so who cares about them.
I find it funny that you denounce the dwarves for being "rigid and inflexible" (not if you chose Balen), but you still like the Qunari. (who are very known for their flexible views)
The Qunari are not only ruthless enough to give almost every other nation a run for their money, but are amazingly arrogant about their "religion", disgustingly so, even when compared to religions like the chantry or the dalish.(which are plenty arrogant in themselves)
That said, no doubt that they are more interesting than generic fantasy races, even if for me they will remain the antagonists.

I have no idea what my talents are. Possibly a tamassran, so I could focus on finding and nurturing the talents of others? =)drome34 wrote...

This. It does not matter if the Qun would have a fitting role for me which I'd find perfectly adequate. The system is anathema to my personal philosophy, and I see no justification for it unless the qunari as a race are more predisposed by biology to live in it. The existence of the Tal Vashoth appears to indicate this is not the case.Xilizhra wrote...

That philosophy is a product of your enviroment. For the purpose of this exercise, you would have to imagine yourself brought up in Qunari society, with Qunari values.Ieldra2 wrote...

I know that the Qunari claim everyone has a place in the Qun, but somehow I doubt they'd have found one for me. I'd probably be dead.
They'd feed you to the goats. Remember, Qunari waste nothing.
