I love to play as a mage, and if I can make my female Qunari look as beautiful as the girl in red above, I'm 100% playing as a female Qunari with my first playthrough, no doubt about it! Awesome outfit also, incredible artwork there, here's hoping the DAI character-creator and outfit designer folks are as talented as the OP .

We're going to be Tal-Vashoth, or however you spell it. I don't think they do anything particularly horrific to their mages. You're going to get some weird ass looks though.

I'm excited to make either a male or female qunari mage as a first character, can't decide :3. I think male qunari need some love since they kept getting beaten up in the last two games, but on the other hand it always bothers me to play really buff mages, lulz, and female qunari need love too since they haven't appeared in games at all before >.<

I want my saarebas to have ram horns. Maybe the qunari we saw in Kirkwall have horns that grew backwards because that is how they were bred. Soldiers without huge "grab me!" targets on their heads? Qunari with lax jobs may have snazzier horns? Lol IDK, but I hope that our Tal-Vashoth PC, (who possibly descends from artisans, priests, shop-keeps, or whatever else) has a wide array of horns.

Yes, yes, yes. I approve. I'm going to play a female qunari mage for sure - and for pretty much the same reasons. Plus, she'll be some kind of positive, cheerful person, if possible. Maybe even ridiculously humorous and talkative. I can't wait to see the "WTF" reactions ... xD

Since they mentioned that mages might have a different background that rogues and warriors, I hope the mage Inqunistor is an escaped Tevinter slave(the Tevinter took Qunari slaves after the first war, so we could be the descendant of those slaves, giving us reason to not be enamored[pretty sure I used that right] with the Qun, while still knowing some of the language and culture) rather than just a regular Tal-Vashoth.

Oh I'll probably just steal a name that someone else came up with or go the lazy route and pick the default. What was the default name for femqunari again?

I came up with these a week or two ago:

Raashoth/Vasraa: Maraas(alone) + Vashoth(Grey one)
Ashala: Ash(to seek) + Asala(soul)
Imeksala/Karisala: Imekari(a child) + (of) + Issala(dust)
Katara/Kata Hissra: Kata(death) + (is an) + Hissra(illusion)
Saaraad: Saar(dangerous) + Meraad(tide) or you could drop an "a" on the end and make it "dangerous illusion"

Indeed, I'm looking forward to playing a female mage of the qunari race. I hope the DAI team writes the Tal Vashoth qunari mage sufficiently different from the other options.

BTW, the Tamassran are what passes for a priest-analogue among the qunari. It's one of the roles open to women, but hardly the only one. Also, since we're going to be Tal Vashout, we're going to have individual names, not role names.

Depending on the characterization options, I might indeed make a Qunari character, now that we know they are a liberated specimen in any case. Don't know the gender though... Might as well make a bad ass lady fighter with a devout belief in the Maker. Again... depending on how we will be able to portray our Inquisitor.

We know that the qunari surname (at least for the rogue, in the alpha) will be Adaar, and I'm probably sticking with my usual female name: Achren.

Or I just might go with Priscilla instead, though that doesn't sound very qunari...

I was thinking of naming my inquisitor "Shiagur". Simply because I liked her story in ME.

I know Qunari have a natural aversion to wearing upper body armor (Sten from Dragon Age Origins being an exception), but is it possible for Qunari in Inquisition to wear some sort of armor.

Maybe some sort of cloth robes that cover the upper body of a Qunari. Might have to explore very cold regions of Thedas. Don't want my Qunari character to freeze.

Or will Qunari only be able to go topless?
