Hey BSN: I am Moorestown NJ visiting a friend. Tonight I talked her into going to the most infamous haunted spot in this part of the state- McElwee road. A spirit of a boy apparently haunts a road near the pond where he was drowned. I have had an experience in my home state, and despite not having any equipment other than a camera, I am confident we will see something if we are patient.
Anyone ever heard of this location or have an experience to share??

BSN.

I remember a thread I made asking for opinions on a picture my brother in law had taken of him with what looked like a hooded figure in the background.

A few posters noticed that it looked like the Emperor from Star Wars, almost a mirror image in fact. So it was pretty much case closed that someone had manipulated it.

That said, in this case I almost find it easier to believe it was a ghost, given the unlikely string of events it would have taken for it to haven been manipulated. Said thread for lols.

Anyways, take pictures! :wizard:

NJ somehow has a lot of haunting spots.

I've never been to any of them, however. Also watch out for police.

This one time, it was dark and I felt an evil presence. I got scared and was listening. I kept asking the people with me if they heard that but no one did! #truestory

I think you have to have a film camera to capture anything. We got nothing with digital cameras while on the Haunted Vegas tour. Or it was a sham.

I saw a ghost once. This was a decade ago when I was a kid still in school.

Although sometimes I put it down to a delusion of the brain as I was tired and it was the middle of the night. Still, I wasn't thinking of or dreaming of an old woman dressed in a Victorian style dress (the likes of which I had never seen before in the limited media I had seen relating to the Victorians) so I'm fifty/fifty on the matter.

In any case you're wasting your time if you think you're going to catch a ghost on camera. Even if you do no one will believe you.

And we all know that you're going to be a douche-bag and and pull a trick on your *girl* friend. That is why you picked a girl and not a boy. You'll get her all scared by running off and then make some noises in the woods. When she starts freaking out, you'll come running out of no where swinging a stick screaming "Get out of here woman! I'LL DEAL WITH THESE DEMONS!" and make yourself out to be a fearless hero who is prepared to sacrifice himself for those that he loves as she runs to safety.

Sad fact is, is that you'll probably pull from it too. Bastard. BioWareMod02 should pay you a visit in real life on Paranormal Road. He'll give you something to really fear.

The only way to capture footage of ghosts is by pointing the camera at your own face at all times, while in complete darkness. Have you learned nothing from TV?

I remember I was staying with my cousins when visiting England as a child.

As I was going into their kitchen/larder (lader?) for a Pepsi, they owned a chip shop, I saw a cutout of some scary looking hairy biker in the conservatory window.

I asked my auntie why she had it there, she didn't set up any wallpapers or decorations so she asked me to show her it.

I took her to the conservatory and it was gone, she asked me to describe it and I did with the same description: big man with a huge messy beard and hair. Biker like appearance.

She then asked if I was talking about her neighbour.

Ok-- you asked for it.

Disclaimer; This is all 100% true. There's enough BS on the internet, I assure you guys I am not adding to it with this one.

It was ~3 years ago, I was very serious about someone. We'll call her "julie"... ah, that body.

Anyways she & I would often watch silly paranormal shows together. One day outta the blue she asked me about a place in Evergreen (Colorado) called the Brook Forest Inn. I say no, and she claims that not only is it rumored to be haunted & she wants us to stay there in a few weeks, but that her old friend from college is the manager. She & her old pal arranged for us to stay in the "blue room", a deluxe suite which is allegedly a murder scene. (Stable boy strangled a rich girl whom he loved, but could never have IIRC)

Of course I jumped at the chance.

We drove about a 90 min, and once we got there I was flabbergasted. The place was not huge, but had ... personality. It was a strange feeling walking around in the early evening. It was August, so still summer, and the ground was muddy from a rare rainy day. Also, the ground floor (and basement) were not made of lumber as the rest of the hotel, but of large, melon-sized quartz stones. They were very sloppily used as makeshift masonry.

We ate & drank, told jokes and were introduced to the staff. After this we got a tour of every room in the place. Not anything odd, until we got to the basement level. The narrow staircase ended in a long hallway. In about 1/2 the rooms was just restaurant equipment, etc. The other half had weird, old-fashioned chain link fences instead of doors-- like cells or cages. At the end of the hallway was a room piled almost to the ceiling with rusty farming tools & equipment. Rusty saws, axes, old burlap sacks, and old, beat-up paintings. This room gave me the chills.

As we were walking back down the stairs, I took two digital still photos. If only I still talked to Julie, I could post these pics, I think she may have them. The first pic showed a blue dot way down by the junk room, about two feet off the ground. It was about the size of a golf ball, and faintly glowing. I thought nothing of this pic, as it could've been a drop of water catching the weird old lights in a reflective way.

Then I scrolled to the next pic. I was stunned. This orb was in the next shot, only 2 or 3 feet from my camera. I regained my composure and we went upstairs. The handful of us played cards for a couple of hours, then they all started getting a funny smirk on their faces. When I asked what was so funny, my GF leaned in and whispered "I have a surprise for you"

The staff was going to leave. All of them. She & I were to be alone in this place ALL NIGHT!

I could barely contain my excitement. (terror)

Needless to say, she went right to sleep, as she was a skeptic. I showered, had a beer and closed the double doors to attempt sleep. My mind raced. I was very anxious. An hour went by. Then two. I got up and took a leak. Checked my camera for battery life and was about under the covers when I heard a voice. It was faint, in the hall, but I was certain there were voices. People talking. I froze. Then I heard footsteps. Heavy ones, in the room adjacent to ours. Fear washed over me like ice-water. I tried to get up the courage to grab my camera, but I just... could not do it. Then there was the sound of the double doors jiggling; not the doorknob, but as if something were pushing against it. I shouted "COME ON!"

As soon as the sound left my mouth, all the activity stopped. My GF woke for a sec, then instantly smacked me on the shoulder. "Cut it out! I was asleep!" she said. I decided I was a coward and defeated, I lied down and tried to sleep. In about 30 -45 seconds I felt an eerie sensation in the far corner of the room. (It gives me chills just recalling it) It was as if something or someone was trying to silently get my attention.

As I slowly turned I was petrified: there was a really strange greenish light above the bathroom door. It was just on the edge of the light fixture. The best was I can describe it is like a light on a Christmas tree, but it didn't illuminate the ceiling or door. It seemed to be stationary, and simultaneously moving toward me. I had never seen anything like it. I stared for what seemed like a minute, and suddenly realized my camera was within arms' reach. As soon as I grabbed it and tried to take a photo it was gone.

This is why I believe there may be something to some of the stories of old, haunted buildings...

^_^

As a skeptic, and knowing a small bit about illusions and economics...

It is in the Inns best interests to support these stories because it means more business. Since it is pointless for an inn to keep old rusty farming, it is only there to set the scene (to be creepy). Don't know much about the lights, but since the whole thing screams of being staged for your benefit (you were paying for it I assume) it is proof of nothing. The footsteps and the voice were likely one of the supposedly "disappeared" staff as with the light.

My thoughts exactly.

I don't think it's a coincidence that as soon as the staff "leave" these things happen.

Plus, I know the things I experienced were NOT some dudes screwing around! We watched the staff leave! Anyone who works in the hospitality/service industry knows it's hard work. An extra day off is welcomed. Plus, how would they stage the greenish light?!? I got to know the manager, she is no prankster.

Meh... you skeptics drive me crazy.

:(

On a related note, I have never had any paranormal stuff happen to me before or since
