So I started the game again, using a few community mods. one of them is Reeron and Trekari's Spell Fixes and Improvements version 6.06. It seems that in most of my spells the descriptions in game are missingany idea if it has to do with the mod or can you suggest a solution?

Thanks

Which files did you download, did you extract them all, and where did you put them?

Specifically, you do need Dialog_v6.06.rar .

Sounds like you probably just don't have the dialog.tlk file that comes with the mod in the right place. That should go into the "My Documents/ Neverwinter Nights 2" folder, NOT the ""My Documents/ Neverwinter Nights 2/Override" folder like most everything else.

I have also put a copy of my modded dialog.tlk in C:\\Program Files\\Atari\\Neverwinter Nights 2 just to be sure. I don't remember what prompted me to do this, but it might have been a similar issue.

BACK UP THE ORIGINAL FIRST.

yes thanks guys. it was the dialog file. I had in the overide folder.
everything seems to work but another question is that the instructions said I needed to coopy 3 files.
I have copied Spells.2da_v6.06.rar and the dialog file but the only "spell improvements" file I see is Spell_Improvements_version_6.06.rar and it says it requires the expansions which I don't have right now. So for the original NWN2 campaign which files do I copy? all 3 or just 2 of them?

Thanks again

Go ahead and get Spell_Improvements_version_6.06.rar. That's the central part of the mod, nothing will work without it. I don't think it will cause any problems not having the expansions - you just won't have access to some of the spells that Reeron improved.

great thanks... Since I'm a total noob on using mods maybe someone can help with the following.
I've downloaded Adonnay's Elven Weaponry and just exported the file in the overide folder. Is that all I have to do or do I need to do anything else?

Thanks again

I assume you mean you unzipped/unrared or whatever.  In that case then, yes, you should be able to use it without any further fiddling.  All his weapons have uti's ready to go, so you can just giveitem them to your character in the game.  Use the filename without the extension.

For example

`
debugmode 1
giveitem ad_gsword22
debugmode 0
`

This gets you greatsword 22.

Ok. I'm a bigger noob than I thought. So say my character uses a longsword where do I have to go to enter the command you described? is it done in game? An additional question is, I am experiencing a bug where my characters randomly change weapons or even unequip them completely. Can this be because of the weapon mod? Any ideas? Once again many thanks. This should be the last question hopefully :)

First things first. You would use that set of commands in the game. Click on your PC so you're controlling him, then click or right-click his portrait or hit the F1 key (or depending on your settings, click on him again). He will now show up as the target for your commands (a second copy of his portrait somewhere on your screen - wherever you put it). Now type in the commands above. The first one - ' - will open the debug console; it's not a window or box, just a translucent overlay over half your screen; when you start typing the next line, you will see the letters appear. The next three lines require an Enter key after each. For the second line, you should use ad_lsword22 instead for a longsword. The final line - hitting ` again - should close the console and restore your screen to its normal appearance.  While the console is open, you may see big yellow patches here and there on the ground;  this is normal, ignore them, but make sure they're gone before you try to play on.

That key - ` - is at the top left between Tab and Esc if you have a standard American keyboard. Otherwise it might take some searching.

....

As to your second question - that isn't random, that's the AI doing what it's intended to (though many will tell you it doesn't do it well). You can change that. Hit c to open your character sheet, click open the Behavior tab on the right, and scroll down to Automatic Weapon Switching. You can turn it on or off, for everyone or for each character independently. I leave it on for most npcs, but I ALWAYS turn it off for my main PC (this prevents some annoying graphics glitches) and turn it off occasionally for special case npcs (for example, to keep two defensive weapons in the hands of a character who relies on spells/blasts instead of weapons for attacks; or to prevent a character from equipping a weapon that tends to build up charges and explode).
