Working go around below, if you are so inclined. No news from Bioware as of yet.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! There is a way around the no comment update the site has faced. And here are the steps:
1. You must have google chrome. This will not work with any other browser, you must have chrome.
2. Copy this code [input type="button" class="button" value="Post" onclick="newsfeedplus_submitcomment('33893976_');"]
Change the square brackets to <.
3. Right click on the post.
4. Scroll down to "Inspect Element".
5. You are looking for the section beginning with "Action_#" right click again and select "Edit as HTML"
6. Scroll to the bottom of the new window and past in the code. Change the number after "Action_#" to correspond with the number that is at the top of the window.
7. This should produce a post button. Press it and your avatar should appear with "Write a comment" and full comment box next to it.
8. Post as many comments as you like.
9001 cookies, points and hugs to Cel for working out this work around. :D

PMs were blocked because of spam?? I never got spam.

Edit: I felt the need to add this as a comment.

It's fantastic that you never got the harassment. The issue we had was with the plethora of people that were spamming other people and the copious amounts of complaints about it. Sometimes sheer harassment to the point where people would create new accounts to harass other people.

But, because -you- didn't have to deal with it, clearly it's not an issue? Sorry, that doesn't fly. I'm glad that you didn't have to deal with it. The same way that I'm glad for someone because they don't have to deal with other forms of harassment in their lives either.

Anything said against BioWare is seen as an inflammatory comment.

I actively try to engage the fans that have grievances. There's less need for me to talk with someone that is already happy and on board with some of our decisions. I think you have a narrow definition of what is considered "against BioWare." If people come onto the forums with little else to do but insult myself, my colleagues, or my employer, then yeah you're not going to be welcome here.

Plenty of people to this day still talk about how awful DA2 was as a game.  They continue to post this today.  It's when people start insulting each other (or me) that I toss on the moderator cap.

would someone who is more code knowledgeable than I hazard a guess if this was intentional or an oversight?

It was a bug. I mentioned it to some people this morning and found out it was broken with some other behind the scenes changes with the board software (note, these changes happen all the time. Usually people don't notice it though because ideally the user experience doesn't change).
