Does Mac Walters even care about lore consistency anymore? Does he care about Mass Effect? I don't think so.
From the ME wikia:
[...] When Vyrnnus punished one of the trainees, Rahna, by breaking her arm, Kaidan Alenko attempted to defend her. Vyrnnus lost his temper and attacked Kaidan, claiming his people should have "bombed [humanity] back to the Stone Age". Finally, Vyrnnus drew a knife--a military-issue 'talon'--and Kaidan responded by delivering a powerful biotic kick to his face. However, Kaidan's retaliation was stronger than intended, breaking Vyrnnus' neck.
Ok... no knife, no Vyrnnus attacking Kaidan, no "stone age" speech.
The only possibility is that maybe, for the preview, they cut one page which may have depicted all of the above. Fingers crossed, then.

^^My thoughts exactly. Seems too big a retcon otherwise. Maybe they previewed it this way to get us to buy the comic.
To get the fans to buy the comic, they blatantly ticked them off?
Was that the strategy with Paragon Lost, too?

Well, I can see that the "intact Sovereign" thing may have happened because Paragon Lost was not written by any of the BioWare writers. Casey Hudson was the only one involved from the original ME team.
But if this happens again here, I will be kinda pissed off.

You're right!
Point still stands.

Find out how SuperMac further ruins the MEU next week.
I bet Rahna is actually Brooks. Red sand is a hell of a drug.
Also
Lmfao, that creeped me out too. Not to mention it looks nothing like him.
But seriously cant they get someone better to draw the comics? The fan art on tumblr is nothing short of amazing, why cant they hire one of those people?

It isn't as if this stuff happens just by Mac Walters. It needs approval by others.

2) Retcons, retcons everywhere! This isn't remotely the first time. I have a Mass Effect Friend online who has a special theory that the ending is all in Shepard's mind (more or less, I mean), and these comics and Paragon Lost is what's happening in everyone elses' minds.
Or something like that.
Well, Mac would need to pull a rabbit out a hat regardless, to have any of this stuff many any sort of sense and continuity.

1) The art style is terrible, like with most Mass Effect comics. I agree - with SO MANY good fan artists out there, THIS is what they release? Fat chance of my getting any of these for the art, so it better have a good stor...wait

Omar Francia was awesome at drawing Evolution and Invasion. Bring him back!

...but you gotta admit it's god-awful that a writer can't make one single story that doesn't retcon something. First cerberus was involved with the hunt for fist, and while that isn't necesarily retconning it was still a cheap way to sneak them in and one people never needed.StreetMagic wrote...
It doesn't sound like some major/earth shattering retcon. It doesn't really matter. I just don't understand why. It'd make sense if the original sucked, but it was neither here or there.
He keeps doing it and he keeps showing off his incompetence as a professional writer, if you ask me.
He's almost worse than David Cage, so I hope he thinks of that as a compliment (hint: It's not!)
