Why have the Like button and comments sections in the news feed been removed? Is this on purpose? Is it a technical difficulty?

The other thread about this is mostly just people goofing off and not taking this seriously, so allow me to formally ask:
Why have the Like button and comments sections in the news feed been removed? Is this on purpose? Is it a technical difficulty?

The honest truth is, the people who run these boards don't want to hear from us AT ALL unless its telling them how good their games are.
This is complete and utter rubbish, and much of the passive aggression in this thread has left me so irate that I'm going to close it down. I'm insulted to have read that position.
As for the problems, "I don't know" is my answer. Sorry. It's 9:34 PM and I've been out sick the last two days with the flu, so I certainly haven't had any information presented to me that could have informed me as to why. I can't find any information either.
But thanks for putting me in a sour mood. It's very much appreciated.
