I asked Mac Walters what I wanted to ask. I got some information. There working really hard on the next game and there trying to bring back exploration like it was in Mass Effect 1. I asked about species customization but so far nothing yet, he couldn't talk about it. That's it so far. I asked if they could return vehicles as well, who knows.

I'm a happy camper. I got my things signed and autographed so I don't need to do that the next day well with Seth Green though if I meet him.

Sounds interesting, ME1-style exploration plus the unique/different areas that the side missions in ME2 had could be great if both were put together in the next game. The only thing letting down exploration in ME1 was the re-used areas (uncharted worlds) and enemies.

Me1 style exploration, visiting the same abandoned mine, base and spaceship over and over with an annoying vehicle. No thanks.
I understand what you're saying but you have to remember the budget limitations they faced making Mass Effect 1. It's a miracle they've launched such an amazing game in 2007. Also, a lot has changed since then in the gaming world. I'm sure Mass Effect Next-Gen will make exploration varied and interesting. Lots of potential...
P.S. Mako driving with realistic physics, yes please...

Yeah for all the repetition with the maps, it still became my favorite game. If ME1 can be recaptured while getting the benefits of the next gen hardware's capability and more variety I'm sure it'll be great. I would sure love a vehicle, but I suspect that this may not be coming back.

I am thinking if they look at the overlord DLC in terms of exploration then they are on the right track.

ME1 Mako segments were very repetitive I'll give you that, but at the same time that was 6 years ago. Given what DA:I is doing with exploration and how they are utilizing the Frostbite engine and supposedly sharing assets across dev teams, I'm inclined to say that this is good news.

I don't mind exploration if it means something, with Inquisition its the space you travel between cities, but if its just dropped in to give players the exploration they want and mean nothing to the game itself I rather not have it. The other problem I have with exploration in Mass Effect is vechicles, actually unless I am playing a game designed around racing I have never liked vechicle controls, so I rather have exploration on foot or at the very least designed around not having combat being in the vechicle.

i agree with you, but that could be a cool spin off title if done right.

I would love that so much! See, in Mass Effect you were new to the setting but from a story perspective you were a Commander travelling from system to system, exploring worlds like some Sci Fi television series. And those Mako moments were the chance to give you that exploration, they did get a little dull at times but it was a great idea that deserves being brought back.

This would ruin my gaming for that year and beyond. Oh, my character looks like a mancat but no one cares, is a mocap of Mark Hamill and Jodie Foster/2, and I meet tons of people going nowhere for hours who need my help doing pointless things that are incredibly unrewarding and obnoxiously disjointed? Bye forever.

Clean slate is what I preferred and seems the route they are taking. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake twice when ending the story.

The other games you listed are fair though, esp Cyperpunk 2077. Although for whatever reason I have a distinctly Deus Ex HR vibe from that. Im sure CP will be well received, but damn I really hated DEHR, it was very punishing in the first several hours.
