Why has Morrigans facial structure changed? [And will other returning characters have different faces)?

I don't think Morrigan looks like... well Morrigan in the Inquisition trailer. I can't remember where, but someone posted like a different version of what she was going to look like in the trailer and it looked much more like Morrigan.

I don't know about you guys but I didn't even find her all that attractive in the trailer, and being beautiful is part of what makes her character so mysterious and awesome (in my opinion).

I also looked back to DA2 - Alistair and Zevran had weird faces too, that didn't really even look like the ones they had in DA:O.

But Varrics face looks the same, but... what's the word for it - Improved? They updated his facial features with the new graphics but still managed to make him look pretty similar to himself in DA2. Will they be able to do this with other characters? (Such as the Warden and Hawke *hint* *hint*)

1. Different engine plus she's 10 years older.
2. Yes, other characters may have different faces if they reappear.

I agree with everything you said, up until the last paragraph! I honestly think Varric looks less like him in DA2, and more like that dwarf we meet in Act 3 (i.e. the surviving dwarf servant of Bartrand's, we meet).

I really would like a change in her appearance. The game is still a year from finishing... no reason why BioWare can't change it now. COMPLETELY remove the mole on her face... she never had a mole. Adding a mole is a horrible way to make a character look like they've aged! Really, she should look as close to she did in Origins, as is possible with the new engine.

Morrigan is one of those characters that people would HATE to have their face "ruined." Remember the back-lash people gave for Alistair's nose?

Varric's hair (on his head) needs to be lighter. Closer to the way it looked in 2. He called Anders "Blondie," but he himself, was quite fair-haired.

By the way, as far as I am led to believe, we will be able to create our Wardens and Hawkes in the same way we will be able to create our Inquisitors at the start of the game... and possibly at the start of the game, too.

I think it's definitely a matter of opinion, then, 'cause I thought she never looked better than she did in the Sacred Ashes trailer. Posted Image

Still... new engine, new graphics. Varric and Cassandra look a bit different, too, but like Morrigan they are still easily recognizable.

Are you sure you people play Video game characters are always changing look Example Leon Kennedy, from the Resident Evil series Leon Kennedy Resident Evil 4 not an exact copy of Resident Evil 2, and Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 6 is not an exact copy to Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4

But the thing is, the image of the alternate look they were going to go for her in the trailer looks much more like her and really does look better. Wish I could find it, damn! :(

Because characters get redesigned constantly.

She looks fine. The only thing I would be concerned about is that lock of hair over her eye. It looks great, but it's unlikely characters will have dynamic hair; they'll more likely have 'wire hair' instead. That lock of hair could lok really awkward if that was the case.

I see that Bioware still hasn't figured out how to do lips yet though.

That's your opinion only. I think she looks better than in DAO (unmodded game).

Also, she's a Shapeshifter. She will look in whatever way that suits her purpose.

She says in DA:O she can't change into another human form and there would be no point.  Especially true if the changes aren't significant (race, gender, age, hair color, skin color, etc...) enough to be a disguise.

As for my opinion on her changed looks, I don't think it's bad (except the weird thin-lipped, wide mouth) I don't mind it. She didn't get the Zevran/Alistair/Teagan treatment at least.

(1) How do you know she's telling the Warden the truth? She has very good reason to lie about that specifically, considering her plans with the Warden.

(2) Even if she was telling the truth, it's been 10 years since then. You don't think her Magic has improved? Her mother can clearly assume multiple Human forms.

I think David Gaider posted something along those lines in the thread about returning Hawke and Warden.  That is, if they return.  There's no guarantee yet.

That sounds very reasonable, actually.

They would use the same character creater, but for the 3 characters. Very little extra effort on BioWare's part, but avoids a huge trap of fan rage over save imports.

Yes it has. Her jowels are a lot wider than in Origins. In Origins her cheeks were pretty sallow, now it's not like that at all.

It actually sounds more like a very dubious misinterpretation of an offhand comment.

I really, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally doubt Gaider said we will be creating Hawke and the Warden at the beginnning of the game. Links or it didn't happen.

I think her facial structure has changed. I am not aware that facial structure changes with age. I am quite old myself and my facial structure nor has  the facial structure of any of my over 40
friends and colleagues changed
just saying ;)

I did a match up with her old face month ago with pics of her in DAO and DAI. The facial structure is the same. Only the nose is bigger. It definent that it's the same facial structure in a new engine.
