What is better:The Qun or the Chantry?

Pros for the Qun:
Everyone is treated as equals(except for mages)and no one is excluded based on their upbringing.
They have a extremely efficient society where everyone contributes to the whole.
They are more technologically advanced than the rest of Thedas.
Cons:
They treat anyone who isn't part of the Qun as things that should be converted or killed.
There is no personal freedom and you can't choose a different role besides the one that was given.
They treat their mages more horribly than the Chantry's.
Pros for the Chantry:
They help the poor and desperate as shown with places like Lothering.
There is alot of freedom in Andrastian nations(except for mages).
They let people choose to convert rather than force it on them.
Cons:
There is systematic corruption that many high ranking members seem to ignore in regards to the Circles and how mages are treated.
They did some very despicable things to groups that aren't Andrastian such as the elves.
They discriminate against mages and elves whereas the Qun atleast offers a place for the latter.
They tend to edit history if it makes the Chantry look bad.

Without the mages under their banner the Chantry would easily lose to the Qunari.BigEvil wrote...

1 Almost every organization protect their owne
They tend to edit history if it makes the Chantry look bad.
2-History is always written by the winner and is There evidence the enemies of the Chantry version of history is More correct

It took all of Thedas just to push the Qunari back, hell they were kicking the Chantry nations' asses before the mages were called in.Jedi Master of Orion wrote...
No. The Qunari were already retreating by the time the New Exalted Marches too place. Also the the Chantry is much better on average. They aren't even really comparable. The Chantry is a religion. The Qun is their government. The roles they play in society and the authority they have are very different.

The Qun don't do this. They embrace their extreme views and even relish in it. I really kind of despise anything the forces an ideology upon an individual.
So given a choice, I would pick Chantry, if only because they are slightly less forceful in their methods.

No they weren't. The Andrastian nations had already halted the Qunari advance before the mages got involved. The Chantry called the New Exalted Marches (where Genetivi describes the mages getting involved) to break the stalemate. Mages were vitally instrumental to pushing the Qunari back to northern Rivain, but not in avoiding losing the war entirely.

That's fine, I should have used a smilie really.
As for your list of pros and cons, I'd argue that with the threat of exalted marches the Chantry isn't much better than the Qun when it comes to convert or die. It could even be said that the Qunari are a bit more honest or up-front about it.

Or a threat to the nations of Thedas.Jedi Master of Orion wrote...
Exalted Marches aren't that common. And they aren't called unless there is a threat to the Chantry as a whole.

Considering the Qunari treated the conflict as just a minor setback, I'll wager they could have easily steamrolled the Chantry nations since we know that Par Vollen isn't their original home.Jedi Master of Orion wrote...
