At the moment only Liara T'Soni is the only Paramour option for a Lesbian Shepard. And that to me should be addressed as a patch for all Mass Effect games.

I gotta agree with you, especially Miranda. I just really like Miranda... Also it would have been nice if Tali was a romance option for fem!shep as well.
I think Miranda should've been a FemShep LI. But Jack, no. I KEEP JACK JACK!!!
Because they are straight. Simple.
There are files in the game that show that, at one point, Kaidan and Ashley were potential homosexual romance, but there was an actual petition out there that wanted them canceled in that role. Kaidan became one in the third game, would make sense Ashley would have too. And there are still sound files in the second game that prove that, at one point, Bioware intended ME2 female LIs to be option for female Shepard as well. Can't find them on youtube now, but they are out there.
So you are wrong. More correct answer would have been "because Bioware was afraid of scandal".
IIRC the sound files for Kaidan and Ashley same sex romances in ME1 were voiced by Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale correspondingly. And I still remember all the fuss there was about Liara romance in ME1. Quoting Udina "This is an outrage!" ![]()
And still, they are straight LOL. I'm not wrong. You judge what we got, not what we could've got. Miranda, Jack and Ashley are straight, it's not because Bioware feared anything, or else Ashely would be bisexual in ME3 as well, even if that wouldn't make any sense at all. There are files in the game that show that, at one point, Kaidan and Ashley were potential homosexual romance, but there was an actual petition out there that wanted them canceled in that role. That is all.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
While I would have preferred Ashley or Miranda available as romances for FemShep, I can see why they weren't; Jack however makes a more interesting case. In learning more about her you discover that she has had same-sex relationship(s) in the past. I guess either she's no longer into women or Shepard just isn't her type.
It would have been interesting to see Jack & Shepard's relationship if ME2 ran with the same romance rules as DA:I, were you can flirt with pretty much anyone.

Umm, they made Kaidan bi-sexual in ME3, pretty much out of nowhere. But that didn't bother me much, as Kaidan, in my games, rarely made it off Virmire.

Jack? Sure. Rest of 'em? Nah.
Everyone gets with everyone! Everyone's happy!

Just going to leave this here...

Not wrong.
No and no,don't see the first 2 as lesbians...but Jack! Come on! She looks and sounds like she has fish for dinner every night! It doesn't make any sense she's not a lesbian...bald,99% topless, tattoo all over, swears like a sailor, resents men...come on!!
I'm happy enough as a guy, but a bi-option would have made them more popular at least. Especially Jack. She deserved more airtime.
Ash always came across as to conservative to be into women. Miranda is designed to be perfect and is likely looking for a perfect match to make perfect babies, LotSB shows she is very interested in having children at some point at least. Jack has been with women in the past, though I only recall that being a 3 way with a couple who double crossed her which may have left a bad memory.
Would I have liked them to be romanceable for femShep? Sure, as a guy I do like to change it up and play femShep from time to time but I will never have my game avatar flirt/seduce/kiss/or anything else with a male character if I can avoid it. Which means that I don't have many choices with Liara in 1, Chambers added in 2 and Taylor in 3, I don't really count Allers or Samara as they don't go anywhere from what I recall. But all that said I don't mind them being straight, it helps keep the world believable, if they made the tough female marine Sgt. who is a bad ass a lesbian/bisexual they would be seen as following a stereotype and not being original so I don't mind.
I don't mind FemShep being bisexual.... but I wonder, was the writers that bad at making more romanceable male NPCs for a straight main female character that they thought people only would only play FemShep if there were more 'girl on girl action'. Was it that easy to pander to male fantasy and fetish than to a woman's?

In mass effect their is 1 straight male, 1 straight female, and 1 bisexual feminized alien so only 1 option for girl on girl action, 1 option for guy on girl action, and 1 option for girl on guy action. Mass Effect 1 was very balanced in this regard though it could be argued that they had 2 female romance options vs 1 male option and that would be true. I just think that they wanted an alien romance option and since they had already created the asari as an asexual race, female in appearance because they still need to carry birth and breast feed their daughters, they could get away with not writing a male alien romance for femShep or feel the need to include a gay option for mShep. Sure, it made playing femShep more enjoyable for me to have an option to romance Liara since as a guy I can't bring myself to flirt with any man, but it wasn't all that much different then the mShep romance save a few seconds in the cabin before Ilos.
Obviously they changed this in future games though. ME2 saw 3 more straight male and female options added but only Chambers was added as a bisexual option for lesbian femShep and there were still no options for gay Mshep. ME3 didn't add any new stright options for males and reports say that citadel dlc added 2 stright males for the femSheps(I wouldn't know persoanly I have never romanced a male) other then that they did add 1 gay and lesbian character and 1 or 2 bisexual options.
In Mass Effect, Liara, Sha'ira, Morinth, Samara, Kelly and Allers was bisexually available as romance convenience rather than genuinely trying to portray lesbian relationship well and they behave the same regardless of which gender Shepard was. It was until Traynor that they attempted to explore a relationship in a way that it affect the general narrative as a homosexual Shepard (you could listen to Shepard and Traynor flirting and interacting with each other throughout the duration of the game, similar with BroShep and Cortez and to a degree with Kaidan) but even then the initial shower scene still reduce Shepard as a casual observer, it was still there to titillate rather than showing intimacy.
Wanting every female NPCs to be available to FemShep isn't doing her narrative any good either. Lesbianism isn't a sex fetish. Had the reverse happen to BroShep, with the idea that female players preferred their male main character to have sex with men rather than women, he would have Kaidan from the start and he would be able to have sex or flirt with Joker, Garrus, Wrex, Zaeed, Thane, Grunt, Jacob, James and Javik. Even if it doesn't make sense, it served same purpose. But come to think that wasn't so bad. Free love right?
As a woman who really like men a lot, I'm not insecure to play a male character romancing another woman. Why should it be so abhorrent that straight men wouldn't empathize playing a straight female main character?
Even when a man plays a game he can't just turn off his mind, for alot of guys this means that we just can't bring ourselves to tell another man we love them or think their cute, because we don't, even if we are playing with a female character. I just don't see the point in romanceing someone I am not intressted in or attracted to. Not all guys I'm sure but for me atleast it's simply not even a thought in my head and to enjoy the game when I play femShep I have to shut down the guys that try to flirt with me as soon as possible.

This is more what they did in DA2 with the only straight romance option being a dlc character who was a guy, which was different as it had 3 male compared to only 2 female options. If I recall right though their were alot of people who felt that it was a cheap cop out. I didn't mind anyway it just meant I always had two options. Who did you prefer to get with as mHawk when since you weren't limited in choice in that game? Did most go with Isabel/Merrill or pair up with Anders/Fenris? I don't mind them adding gay or male bisexual characters to these games as it's all about choice, but I don't see myself ever going down that path.
