In Mass Effect 1, who did you sacrifice, Kaiden or Ashley?

Vote in the Poll! social.bioware.com/899463/polls/1261/

Feel free to discuss why you made that decision.

As for myself, Ashley annoyed the hell out of me, and I seriously wish I'd left her to die with her squad. My choice was obviously to save Kaiden and sacrifice Ashley. What about you?

I saved Ashley. Not only b/c my shep loved her, but also b/c I hated kaiden so strongly.

See, Kaiden always seemed nice to me... maybe I just didn't talk with him enough. :P

I let Kaiden die because he wasn't very interesting, except for his BAat story.

Kaiden was the same VA who played Carth in KotOR and I LOATHED Carth...Hence IIRC...I killed Kaiden.

I found it impossible to feel any strong emotion towards Kaiden. He was just kind of there...

Yea, good points... he didn't have much personality and wasn't interesting. But man, I totally prefer his bland lack of character over Ashley's annoying ramblings and egotism.

Ashley was turned to Ashes. I decided to save my L2-Lieutenant and the Salarians instead of her.

I always saved Ashley. She's probably my favorite character in Mass Effect. Very deep and touching and I loved having conversations with her because it felt like I was talking to a real person.

Kaidan was barbecued every time haha.

At least Ash has a personality. And finding out her reasons for feeling the way she was, was one of the best things about her.

Ashley was annoying, Kaidens neutral personality is great.

I prefer Kaiden. Ashley's character annoys me a bit.

I left Ashley to die. Why? Because Kaidan the biotic is a much more valuable asset to the Alliance than Ashley the riflewoman. It broke my male Shepard's heart, but duty must come first.

Saved Kaiden in order to save the salarians while Ashley went boom guarding the nuke.

I just never put Kaiden in my party unless i had to...was the same with Carth in KotOR. There were just better choices as squad mates IMO. And while Ashley wasn't an LI of mine, I went Alien all the way baby, I still think between the two Ashley was better in the squad if i had to use either than Kaiden.

In my first ever playthrough, Ashley was my love interest untill Virmire, But when shepard had to pick, he did not let his personal feelings get in the way of duty, saving the higher ranking officer is obvious choice, ash was just a soldier, kaidens biotics prove superior

Liara is my LI.

Sorry, Ashley, you were just in the way.

I didn't favor either character personality-wise, and didn't use them on my squad. Therefore my choice was very simple:

Lieutenant > Gunnery Chief

Sorry Ash.

Ashley. It seemed more important to make sure the nuke got set off. I never used her since my Shep was a soldier and I wasn't overly fond of the character (or Kaidan really either,) so it wasn't something I had to ache over.

I romanced neither but liked both. I recently replayed ME1 to reach level 60 for my transfer and had to think for ages who to save. I figured Kaidan would have more interesting quests to do with his backstory maybe, but Ashley just won me over with some hilarious comment about shooting one of the more annoying NPC's so I saved her.

Depending on their involvement in ME2 though its probably one of the few choices I might go back to change.

Frankly I would have rather just thrown Liara at the geth as a distraction, and to a degree for the lulz, and taken Kaidan and Ash.

Ashley. Played as a soldier every time so never needed her. Plus I hated her poetryImage IPB

Ash 8 out of 9 times.

I'm just going to cheat on her in ME2 for that one game that she is alive.

I saved Ashley the first couple of times, but it seemed like a waste seeing as my Shep always fell for Liara. So Final time around a few days ago I saved Kaiden instead. Hes far more tolerant to aliens then Ash was. Made it easier to work with.

Kaidan.

I mean, I killed him, but that's how his name is spelled. Just for the record, with names I think it is important.

Anyways, I saved Ash on my main Shepard.
