Will you be a kind and forgiving Inquisitor, or completely ruthless?

My first playthrough of any game is always good-hearted and heroic. I have tried the other way and it just doesn't work for me. Renegade/unscrupulous playthroughs are generally my 3rd or 4th playthrough and I only ever do them once, where as I might have a dozen playthrough with good or snarky types.

Not sure which i'll play first? I could make up my mind now but then totally change it later so...I don't know.

I'll probably do a sarcastic good playthrough and then be a total ass to everyone but my li in the next.

For the first playthrough I will roleplay myself, that means I will not chose a specific personality, I'll do what seems best in a given situation.

Mages will all be dead or tranquil after i'm done.

Damn right. Blood magic, consorting with demons, blowing up Chantries... someone needs to get these scum in line.

Wipe them out. All of them.

Damn Straight!

The walking WMDs will be crushed under my heel.

@OP.

Peaceful diplomacy with Rogue Templars, Dwarfs, and Seekers. Full on Mongolian ruthlessness with Mages, and Dalish Knife-Ears. Neutral with the Oxmen for now.

It depends on the situation, really.

I don't want to be a ruthless tyrant, nor a jellyfish that people can just walk all over.

I show mercy only where I feel it's deserved.

Depends on the situation, but I generally like playing the hero.

I think I'll try and go for the middle ground. My inquisitor will try and do the right thing, but if you screw with him/her, then s/he will cut you.

I'll decide on a case by case basis with the flip of a coin. May as well for all it matters.

Pragmatic, and only ruthless when necessary. Screw me over, and my Inquisitor will boil your blood.

The higher I can put my Inquisitor's head in the clouds, the happier I'll be. I envision an off the wall, but extremely talented character for my first quizzy.

All I hope is that the good aligned players don't get all the good stuff.

Still, I choose bipolarness as my method to deal with people. Time to choose a good coin to flip.

However, I will probably end up playing a nice Inquisitor. I usually have a hard time doing horrible things in games.

Same here... although it's pretty fun to play around with on the second playthrough or so.  The first time I had Alistair executed after the Landsmeet was pretty brutal.  I felt guilty.

Also, the 'nice' choices sometimes have bad consequences.  Like in Awakening when you have the guard who deserted her post to go protect her family.  If you let her off with just a warning, the epilogue says this encourages many future desertions.  And giving the peasants food in the rebellion or promising to protect them better, encourages them and causes several bloody rebellions in the future.

I tend to be a very diplomatic and forgiving hero in RPS, especially on my first run. I'm thinking of mixing it up a little here and add a little hint of extra Andrastian zeal and a desire to put down the mage rebellion. But protagonists can change between being dreamed up and being played so there's no way for me to know if I'll be able to pull that off or if the game will be framed in a way that lets me.

That's what I LUV about Bioware games.
This is a Epic bloody Inquisition - and you have the option of sorting it out by being generous kind and forgiving.
In our present real world, the odds are - "they'd" likely eat you for a snack and that's before breakfast.
Kudos to Bioware for as always - Tis a wondrous Virtual fantasy world!
And To be clear, I mean that in a VERY complimentary way.

I like playing the hero, who helps others and saves people from certain doom.  As for specifics, it will determine on my character and what feels right, given their background and the current situation.  While I don't plan on playing "ruthless" characters, they won't necessarily be saints either.

Both, my Inquisitor will try to grant Thedas's mages the kindness of a quick death. All of them, the Maker will understand.
