Legate Lanius was such a nice guy, he left the NCR alone so they could actually prepare for a huge, glorious war instead of just crushing them while they were weak.

I don't get your obsession over elves. They're just humans with pointy ears. And the ones you link look like total sl*ts with those ridiculous non-armors.

Sl*ttiness is its own armor, friend. Do you even fantasy?

I disagree. Because they're a fantasy race, you can enjoy looking at them while not having any expectations that you should look like that.

Thank you. I tend to gravitate towards mages in Dragon Age, so my canon protagonists have been magically inclined. As for being indecisive, I've changed my mind about how my character would handle a situation after much thought, so you're not alone. 

I don't intend on initiating quests with members of the Chantry or the templars, even if it means a loss of content for the experience. I get fairly into roleplaying my character and avoid meta-game choices that would run counter to how the character would go about doing it; basically, taking actions I think they would make. It's why I was also hoping to have the capacity to refuse certain companions (which would be a contrast to my prior canon runs, since my Surana Warden recruited everyone possible to combat the Blight, including Loghain, while my apostate Hawke was building bridges as an apostate in a templar controlled city-state). I would have liked the contrast.

As for companions, I'm still not sure how my protagonist will react to Varric; I suppose it depends on how much he's changed since his exploits in Kirkwall. I can already imagine problems with the Seeker Cassandra and pro-Circle Vivienne, since my protagonist is one of the People.

Sorry, I went to sleep after posting.  I'm a diehard completionist at heart and when I get a game, I need to milk the disc for all the content inside it first.  With that in mind, my first character is always an elf rogue (to open all those damned chests) with a mercenarial outlook on life.  I do this for pretty much every game, even if I'm only going to play through it once.  That was my Tabris rogue.  His only real attachment was to the Denerim alienage and, after being initiated, the Grey Wardens.  He took the 'at all costs' approach to Grey Warden-ing, while taking any opportunity to make some coin on the way.

From then, I mod the game and roleplay away to my heart's content.  I try to get as many different perspectives as possible, although for some reason, half my plathroughs in DAO ended up being elves.  Because I've already done everything, I feel no pressure to do it again and I often miss out a lot of contet if it's the 'in character' thing to do.  My dwarf noble had no time for the casteless, so he didn't take any side quests when he went through the slums and pretty much tried to get through the whole area as quickly as possible.  My human noble was outright hostile to the Dalish and picked almost no quests in the Brecilian Forest.

In terms of companions, I tend to recruit them pretty liberally, since you usually have pretty good justifications.  Even Zevran, which is the companion people would be most likely to kill I imagine, I only killed once.  That said, like you, I hope we can choose.  I can imagine some characters would take issue with Cassandra.

My canon playthrough of both games has yet to come.  I'm going to playthrough them both later this year. :happy:

Although it entirely depends on what social dialogue offers in different situations. How will your Inquisitor behave to friends/allies and enemies. Be quite specific on which people and organisations on how you will perceive them, such templars, mages, the chantry and etc. If I play as a Human Inquisitor, he will be pro-chantry/pro-templar and will have a dislike of magic if such options available. I'm obviously giving a generic way of thinking of how the Inquisitor will act. I don't know how a Qunari Inquisitor will act as it is open to interpretation.

Elves are awful in the series, I hope it's because of engine. We'll see how they appear with Frostbite. Still, it could be worse, much much worse.
