Will you be a kind and forgiving Inquisitor, or completely ruthless?

Well, the Spehz Mehreenz brigade already left their mark (only Grey Knights and Deathwatch are actual part of the Emprah's Inquisition, people), so....

It won't likely be so on first go, but depending on how well done a more 'ruthless' approach to the PC is done, I'll sum it up with this:

Because nothing says 'burn' as much as women of faith's righteous fury.

A lot of people seem to want their Inquisitor to be either Tywin Lannister or Warhammer's "die, die, die!".

You forget the Black Templars. They're perhaps officially not a part of the Inquisition, but they do work for them.

I really want to play an Inquisitor who will make Torquemada seem utterly pleasant. (However, I am not sure if it will be an option.) As for how that character will act, nothing will be beyond scrutiny; disliking almost everything.

However, I will probably end up playing a nice Inquisitor. I usually have a hard time doing horrible things in games.

indeed - i can sometimes do that, after having done severel perfect runs (being a goody two shoes - also a bit ruthless sometimes (betrayal sets me off for example and people like slavers for example don't ge mercy either, they can beg all they want!))

greetings LAX

My Inquisitor is going to be impartial. He will know he needs both Templars and Mages to form a peace. However, he is not going to be willing to take cr** from extremists on either side. He will also be a firm enemy to the use of blood magic, demonology, and red lyrium.

Mine is based on Stannis Baratheon, does that count as ruthless? :P

Perhaps.

Mine is based on Itachi Uchiha. How would you describe him?

Mind pointing to a source of that? I only skimmed through the wiki-articles for the fellas, and if anything they appear to be under the same obligation as other Chapters to provide Marines for the Deathwatch (mayhaps slightly more willing), as well as occasional cooperation with Inquisition forces. Rather, their unknown surplus numbers appear to be a concern to other Imperial institutions, Inquisition included.

'There is no creature on earth half so terrifying as a truly just man.'

...would fit the bill, yep.

i don't know really. The game seems to allow you to make decisions that aren't necessarily good, kind of nice or anything similar to the opposite of those ideas. Rather it seems more like choices with consequences.

There is not one single source that point this fact out, but anyone who is a little familiar with the W40k lore knows that the inquisition is commonly assisted by black templar marines. The Black Templars also are the biggest supporters of the Deathwatch, and most Deathwatch marines are (former) Black Templars. This is of course understandable, since the Black Templars are perhaps the most loyal and the most zealous marines in the Imperium.

Hokay, you're an avid Templar-fan, then, I take? Was the fluff for them rewritten drastically in recent times? 40kwikia and especially Lexicanum aren't really up to date in general, from what I gather. The former at least still states that the Deathwatch relies on recruiting Marines from various Chapters for tours of duty, none necessarily more so than others.

Last I was actively collecting a TT-army myself was in 4th ed. days, so several years ago. And Loyalist SMs, Black Templars included, never did particularly catch my interest, to be had.

You can feel free to take this to the comments on my profile, to avoid cluttering this topic here.

I think I am too indoctrinated by Warhammer 40k and will play my Inquisitor much more ruthlessly and brutally than either my Warden or Hawke.

 Completely ruthless and relentless.

Getting the job done, increasing my own power, and securing the dominance of my faction and the safety of myself and my companions important to me, is more important than pleasing the commoner.

Just wait until that commoner finds you dying in an alley from the consequences of your ruthlessness.

I'm the kind of person who has a hard time being a **** in almost all video games that involve some sort of good/evil or good cop/bad cop scale, but I get the feeling that I'm going to immensely enjoy playing a callous and merciless character (for once!) in DA:I.
