I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 and my Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete is the version sold by GOG Ltd.,  Version 1.023 (1765) (Final) Aug 17 2009 17-29-45.
I have downloaded and installed the module ‘Tales of the Unknown - The Bard's Tale_v1_7’ but when I try to run it a line of text appears at the bottom of the screen saying – ‘Loaded 12 out of 115 Areas’, and the PC freezes. I have to use Ctrl/Alt/Del to close the mod & NWN 2.
I have looked at the NWN2 log after trying to run the game and the text at the bottom says:

 TRANS: [Wed Oct 09 21:38:48]Not decompressing as not loading from a previously visited module.

Could not load area walkmesh: Tales of the Unknown - The Bard's Tale_v1_7
 
I would be most grateful for any advice on how to get the module to load correctly

Is this the module you are referring to? It matches the version number. However it is a Neverwinter Nights 1 module, so you would probably be better off asking in the nwn1 forums, which are here.

Thanks for your reply Kamal and I need go no further with the query - you have solved it for me. I clicked on your ikon to make sure we are talking about the same game and, yes, we are. But, if you look at the top of the page it says Neverwinter Nights 2 Vault and I, in my ignorance assumed that it was a NWN 2 module. But it ain't and thanks to you I have just had it up and running in NWN 1. I'll be more careful in future!
