I am curious about why, when I use chain overload on a single target, like the Atlas on Surkesh, it makes a sound like it is hitting a second target, even though there is only one target to hit. It's not actually hitting the Atlas again, is it?

I always figured this was some graphics glitch, but I never bothered to watch close enough to see if it dealt the second amount of reduced damage for the chain.

Are you using the Neural shock evolution? That may explain it.

How would that effect it? Those troopers that show up don't drop in for several seconds after the fight starts, so the second "zap" sound can't be from hitting them. The only target on the field is the Atlas. Do you think maybe the second zap is hitting the driver?

From my experience, Neural shock causes Overload to hit the first target twice. This is why I think you are hearing Overload hit the Atlas twice.

Well now I feel like an idiot. I just went to test it out, and Chain Overload with Neural Shock is not "double-htting" the first target like I remember. It has been a long time since I have used Chain Overload with Neural Shock I guess.

Maybe you are right. Maybe the second hit is hitting the driver. I have no easy way of testing it at the moment as I do not have a Sentinel or Engineer near a mission with an Atlas at the moment.
