Well I was going thru the series and started thinking. What guns do you use? Do you mix it up or just use one weapon. I try to mix it up as much as possible. But was thinking of making a run thru just using machine guns and hand guns for the fun of it. Anyone else ever try? And what was your experiance?

I give a different loadout to each class except my two main canon playthroughs, for Male Shepard and Femshep, they share the same loadouts, as well as my secondary canon playthroughs.

I limit myself to two weapons per playthrough, and use a tier system for each time I replay that file, so squadmates and Shepard all use the same types of weapons, a bit like this.

Canon Playthroughs:

Male & Female Soldier - Assault Rifle & Sniper Rifle

Secondary Canon:

Male & Female Infiltrator - Sniper Rifle & SMG

then for my other playthroughs

Male Vanguard - Shotgun & SMG
Male Sentinel - Assault Rifle & Shotgun
Male Adept - SMG & Pistol
Male Engineer - Assault Rifle & Pistol

Female Vanguard - Assault Rifle & SMG
Female Sentinel - Sniper Rifle & Shotgun
Female Engineer - Sniper Rifle & Pistol
Female Adept - Shotgun & Pistol

This way I get to use all 10 weapon combinations (when split into 2's)

Yeah thats quite a few playthroughs, so I'm nowhere near done with Mass Effect 3.

For my canon vanguard femShep, I'll typically equip the Cerberus Harrier with the barrel extension and clip mod and the Predator with the heavy barrel and clip mod. I'll occasionally swap out the AR for a shotgun, but I like to keep the cool down as close to 200% as possible. When I do go for the shotgun, I'll use the N7 Crusader with the shredder and barrel mods. For Priority: Earth, I'll add the Indra on top of the Harrier and Predator to deal with enemies at all ranges.

I quite enjoyed doing runs with nothing but a pistol. Despite the lower power, I like to use the Predator for this, because it's quick and fares well with incendiary and cryo ammo. With a quick enough trigger finger, you could pop off quite a few rounds in a short amount of time, even when accounting for its snappy clip reload. I don't play on insanity, however, so I imagine that would make a serious difference.

I mostly equip the squad with N7 weapons, but like to keep a few of the different stuff for certain characters.

Liara: Hurricane and Eagle (same as EDI)
Garrus: Black Widow and Mattock or Phaestron
Kaidan: Valkyrie and Eagle (if Ashley is alive instead, she gets the N7 Valiant and Valkryie)
Javik: Particle rifle and Eagle
James: Typhoon and Piranha
Tali: Crusader and arc pistol

I did a playthrough with just using a sniper rifle(Black Widow) on hardcore with the weapon only at level one. I did the same using the bloodpack pistol and the Mattlock. I only did this for something different and for the challenge. Also I like to point out that the squadmates only used level one weapons when I did these playthroughs.

I typically use AR's but I dislike the Vindicator.

Valkyrie. Valkyrie. And more Valkyrie. Maybe a bit of the Eagle too.

Not sure why, but I've hardly used anything else in single player.
