When I use the appearance wizard a number of clothing types comes up.

Were are these sourced from, are they in the appearance 2da?

Currently I can add content in game via UTI but I would like to be able to select some appearances based on CC when setting up the npc.

Things like clothing, armour, weapons, heads, etc. CAN use a 2da, but they don't need to, and it's better not to. The preferred way is to use the standard naming conventions for those pieces, so you can just add the files and not worry about it.

I understand but I have something odd. in the appearance wizard some item appear. There are all from the Jesters set as far as I can tell but I cannot find any 2da that would have overwritten them into the tools. is there a reason I can see then amd not the chimney fish work?

I am a bit bemused.

I know what you mean and I just make the clothes and put them on the npc via the inventory but it would be faster the other way. Perhaps by looking at the two sets of properties ( from one that appears and one that doesn't ) side by side you might be able to see why, maybe one lot is not set up as an armour item.

I use the Armour Set tab rather than the Appearance Wizard, but I also have only some of my installed clothing files appearing in the list. I don't know why, but I haven't gotten around to looking at the filenames, or opening them in MDB Cloner or whatever might cause them to not conform to the naming convention.

Don't look for some rogue 2da, because Jester's clothes would not have used one.

I need to amend my suggestion not to look for a 2da. There are some other clothing/armour packs that use armorvisualdata.2da -- two that I know of are DMCB Yeoman of the Greenwood, and ACME Assault & Hattery. They could be converted to use the normal naming conventions instead, rather than possibly cause conflicts.

Hmmm, I will have a look at attaching these in a different way.

I have put the greenwood set in too which sdoes have a 2da but says it is corrupted. They do not appear properly in game.

I will have a look at the armour set tab.

I am not concerned enough about this to fix it right now otherwise building will stall again but I am interested in knowing how it all fits together.

Okay, thanks for the posts. All the content is in game. I can add through the inventory (it crashed a lot in the armour tab). the PC can purchse all the content in a shop should they wish to dress up thier characters.

Now that I have looked in more detail there are some nudes or semi nudes in the slots that should be for CF. They appear to be a corruption of the CF content.

One of these days I will sort this out but for now I am done.

Thanks again

Yeah, I've been wanting to sort it out, too. We should put our heads together on it some time. :)
