I find that OHK weapons improve her survivability a lot. It's much safer to dash out of cover and fire a Claymore/Widow and dash back in, rather than spend extended periods of time shooting an AR or SMG.

Right hand advantage? <_<

While RHA is extremely helpful, it's not always feasible, especially during objective waves. And soft cover doesn't always cut it, as we all know. Taking down a Praetorian that's lasering you is much easier with high-impact/low-exposure weapons like Claymore and Javelin.

Maybe in your fantasy world. Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a completely different game than some of you guys. I solo a lot and it is extremely rare that I would ever use hard cover, and I seem to do fine surviving and taking enemies down.

Maybe I've just played this game for so long that I've forgotten how it was to suck as a player when soloing.

I've died many times because of Banshee warp balls or Praetorian lasers coming through the walls. Never happens to you?

The most dangerous thing for soloing with glass-canon kits are enemies who sneak up behind you unawares. Weapons like the Claymore allow the player to look around while reloading and therefore can (and should) improve situational awareness significantly. RHA won't stop enemies from backstabbing.

You all are talking like you are a bunch of beginners at this game. Do you all get tunnel vision every time you use an assault rifle and thus pay no attention to your surroundings?

It is very simple, look around you from time to time regardless of weapon! :pinched:

When I was new at the game then sure, or when they first introduced Collectors and we didn't know about their lasers going through walls.

You're quite full of yourself aren't you? :pinched:

To use weapons like the Typhoon and PPR requires tunnel vision else you won't damage anything.

Funny that you're using noob weapons that require no aiming at all, and/or stagger lock enemies indefinitely in the videos you've posted on YT (GPS/Venom GI & Lolreegar Kroguard) and call others beginners ... ^_^

Oh, get off your high horse... I've seen you get surpised by brutes and husks, precisely because of tunnel vision. And I've only ever glanced through a couple of your videos.

I have more than 300 ME3 MP videos on my channel, if you have only taken a look at my latest uploads then I don't blame you, but in truth you should just shut up because you have no idea what you are talking about.

When using a weapon like the Typhoon or the PPR you look before you shoot it, and you make sure that you are in a position so that they can only spawn in a few directions around you. You also know how many enemies are on the map at once, so you can easily tell whether an enemy would be trying to flank you and just about how much time you have before they will reach you.

I've soloed Gold with all the classes, and with 90% of the weapons in this game. I've soloed on all maps and against all enemy factions. Heck, one of my latest uploads was a lvl 0 Gold solo against Reapers with the Avenger, and you talk about noob weapons and sh*t? I didn't have any Cyclonic IV but if I did it would have been a 10 waves survived solo as well. I soloed Gold with lvl 1 characters before the second DLC was released and before I had a lot of goodie goodie weapons.

My point is, if you by any chance believe that I don't know what I'm talking about and that I have no experience about what I'm saying then you are mistaken good Sir. I'm talking from experience. I mostly use the Asari Huntress with the Harrier or the CSMG which give me this so called "tunnel vision" that you guys seem so scared of and I have no problem with that, works like a charm.

I mostly agree with your point dumdum so somehow I think the problem is your douchey elitist dick attitude. Still, it's better than the phoney modesty elitist shtick you used to do all the time.

...and yet none of this negates the fact that with weapons like Claymore and Widow, it's easier to stay safe. Which is what iLikeBWgames and I were saying in the first place.

Of course you don't have to care about any of that, because you're just that good.

It would have happened with another weapon (like the Claymore) as well in those situations when it actually happens. It is not because of tunnel vision, it is because I'm playing a bit on the edge sometimes thus I know that enemies are closing in on my flanks and such but I keep firing because I want to get just a few more shots before changing position.

It really have nothing to do with "tunnel vision" limiting gameplay compared to one shot weapons like the Claymore and such. Don't worry though, you'll understand once you get there yourself.

And what does all that nonsense got to do with advising someone who asks for tips how best to solo Platinum with the Huntress? You make it sound like it's a huge accomplishment which is enough for me to not take you serious.

Oh, and sorry to disappoint but your videos don't have many views so you're not as special as you think you are, else a lot more people would have taken a look. The really good players soloed Gold back in the demo-days when you were probably struggling with Bronze.

Alright, I will take the hint and shut up now. No point in trying to talk to someone who not only thinks he's awesome, but also tries to tell everyone even though nobody gives a fart. On Tuchanka we would have said "You talk too much" and headbutt you in the face.

lol :D

1. OP asked how to use the Huntress for a Platinum solo and I give some advise about it based on my own experience. If you go back in this thread you'll see that a bunch of you guys weren't happy with my advice and wanted to make it look like my advice was bad, and that's why we are where we are right now. If everyone would just have left my answer alone then we wouldn't have to argue about it now would we? Fact is that using a one shot weapon can actually be worse for survivability since it is more unforgiving, if you miss a critical shot then you can easily get scre*ed over if you're unlucky

2. I know my videos have few views and that's all good. The reason to why I upload my videos to my channel is mostly for my own sake because I don't want to store them on my computer (takes up too much space). If anyone wants to watch a video then they can do so, but I do nothing to promote my channel since it is for my own sake that I have it. And from the sound of it, you are probably still struggling with Bronze :pinched:

You my friend are butthurt and I know it can be painful but you will just have to learn how to live with it.

Seems like that can only refer to me, as I was the first one to actually "argue" anything you wrote.

No one said anything about your advice being bad. Hell, I quite agree with the actual advice you've given in this thread.

I was only pointing out that iLikeBWgames had a point when he said that weapons like Claymore and Widow are good for survivability (not that I'd personally use Widow on a Huntress). The essence of my post was that there are situations where high-impact/low-exposure weapons are advantageous, and using RHA on weapons like Harrier doesn't completely negate those advantages.

How self-centered of you. Both I and Fortack commented your "answer" in a perfectly polite manner, which shouldn't bother you, as this is a discussion forum, after all. But maybe you should re-think the tone and attitude with which you adress others.

Best build's the one no one's using because if everyone would be using it, it's be used and not new. Also building is more about maintaining than actual construction. If you maintain construction, you can build before everyone becomes one and then no one again.

I prefer 6/6/6/0/6

The extra damage from passives is pretty small relative to what Warp IV does out of the box. I prefer the extra health and shield for the solo.

Edit:

I would fight Collectors or Reapers.

Hurricane / Acolyte is good.  But, I'd prefer something more accurate than the Hurricane.

collector SMG + Acolyte
imo better than hurricane because you don't need to get ammo
the damage with either warpIV or incindary IV is also great incindary give you double explosion (fire + biotic)from dark channel

EDIT
and i agree fight reaper or collector because both are barrier base enemies
i play a few games with her when tried to solo cerberus.  phantom die quickly with dark channel
but the problems is the dragon SMG and phantom hand cannon are ridiculuously accurate

I think the OP's build is the best one.  I think you should have at least one weapon equipped with a power damage mod though, and I like something with a little better range than the Hurricane.  Put the power damage mod on the Acolyte, and carry a Harrier or Wraith (EDIT: or Claymore!) instead of the Hurricane.

Also, if you're carrying the Hurricane, Heat Sink > Extended Mag.
