I find it odd how, especially after all the talk on this forum about TWD, there's not a thread for this yet. So I made one.

I'm not done with Episode 1 yet, or I would probably post my thoughts. I will once I'm done, though. For those who have finished it, though, what did you think? I'll be curious once I'm done. (Since I wrote this, I did, in fact, finish and write on Episode 1. Look no further.)

(WARNING: RELEVANT NO LONGER)
Also, sorry to PS3 users, it's not going to be released on PSN until tomorrow. Me, being part of the glorious PC Master Race, don't have to worry about that, but I feel bad for you, son (or daughter).

I love it. Haven't felt so emotional in a long while, The noir style and the story.really pulled me in. Bigby is awesome. Combat feels better too. So far I like this game more than TWD.

If Telltale can replicate the success they had with TWD as well as keep up the quality for TWD season 2, this will be a start of something great since it might prove that TWD wasn't just a fluke and it's success wasn't all because of the hot IP. We might get more games in this style from different developers.

I just finished it a about an hour ago. I think Telltale is really going places. It was very well written, all the characters were very likeable, and Telltale generally gave you a pretty good idea of the characters, especially in such a short time span. My one complaint is that in the (I'll be nonspecific here, for spoiler reasons) bar scene, there were a couple of options I didn't understand, and because it felt so out of character and weird both times, I ended up doing the same scene again. That's more my fault than the writers', though.

The combat was really intense, at least on the PC version (I've heard some meh things of the combat in the console versions). I found it really immersed me in the action. I didn't expect there to be near as much emotion as The Walking Dead, especially considering this wasn't an entirely hopeless setting, but damn, was I wrong. I never felt tear jerking pain (yet), but there were a couple moments of shock, especially the ending. Oh Jesus, that ending. I think I would have even seen it coming, had I read the comics (may be wrong), but... wow. Never saw it coming.

I don't currently have any money in my XBox Live account, but once I do I'm definitely downloading this.

I've read a few of comics this is based on, too, so I'm already familiar with the setting.

For those of you who have completed it, how much playtime would you say it takes for one run? Aaaand.. decent replayability so far?

Around 2 hours if you take time and don't stress through it though remember it's 5 parts so that will be 10 hours in total for 20$ if you pre ordered or 22$ otherwise so i say i got or rather will get my moneys worth in time and for replayability  um these kinds of games doesn't have the highest replayability but for myself yes i feel i wan't to play another time and pick those choices i ignored first time.

I was hoping there'd be a thread for this :) Just turned off my 360, finished Ep 1 just a few minutes ago.

I highly reccomend this. I didn't get far in TWD, but I was familar with the playstyle.

A dark gritty twist on fairy tales with an awesome film noir-ish story.

Love love love love it

Okay, so it's good? Good.

If they can replicate the feels from TWD, I'm all for it. I'm a bit emotionally detached IRL, so I make up for it in games.

Basically, you play as Bigby Wolf(The Big Bad Wolf) who is the sheriff of a town called "Fabletown". Fabletown is actually located in New York City's Upper West Side, and is hidden from the mundane or "mundies"(normal people) by magic. It is inhabited by characters and creatures from fairy tales such as Snow White, Beauty and The Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, etc etc who had to go on an exodus from their homeland. Its a dark and seedy place, not at all happy and cheery, and characters that do not appear to be human are forced to purchase a magical spell called "glamour" which gives them the appearance of being human as a disguise, under the threat of being sent to "The Farm" as a consequence of not doing so. The Farm being a place where all non-humanoid fairy tale characters are sent, a place that is supposedly much worse than it seems to outsiders. Bigby, being the sheriff, must investigate a murder in Fabletown, committed by one of its own.

Hence, The Wolf Among Us.

I highly recommend that you all download this NOW.

Its wonderful. Real mature take on the good ol dark fairytales of our childhoods. And I know its good because at several points the game got me to react aloud with "Oh shi-" and "Whaaat!"

Found some time to play halfway through and it's been fun. Definitely a treat meeting the characters with VAs, although it's been awhile since I read one of the graphic novels.

Muppetz made this mistake earlier, so let me clarify pricing-

Each episode when released individually is $5. Meaning at the end you'd pay $25 over however long it takes for the episodes to be released.

BUT-

There's a Season Pass for episodes 2-5 that costs $15, effectively giving you an episode for free.

So if you were to purchase all the episodes today, you'd pay $5 for the first episode, then $15 for the Season Pass which guarantees you 2-5 when they are released, coming out to $20, saving you $5.

I'd buy the Season Pass if you liked the first episode.

Not sure what season pass you're talking about. The game costs $25 on Steam and I see no other purchasing options.

Word of advice for those who haven't played it and are planning on buying it from Steam. Don't enter the discussion forums or ye shalt be spoiled.<_<
