Oh okay, thanks for letting me know. I also just picked up a few of the comics, so I'm really excited about this.

I'd beat the game before reading the comics, since an event in the first episode conflicts with events in the comics(though I'm sure in later episodes it'll be explained).

I loved it. Since I first finished it I've been very tempted to pick up the first TPB. But I'll probably wait and play all five episodes of the game first.

Is the worth playing for someone who isn't familiar with the material it is based on? To those who have played both, how does it compare to the Walking Dead?

Apologies if this came up earlier in the thread. I didn't want to scroll back and look for fear of being spoiled, in case I do decide to purchase this game.

I hadn't read any of the comics and still loved it, you really don't need the background info it fills you in and has a codex type thing. I didn't overly like The Walking Dead, but found this much better. It has more of a film noir feel to it which I found enjoyable.

You absolutely DO NOT need to read the comics to enjoy it.

Heh, same. I like that the combat is more brutal, feels more satisfying. Especially that bar fight.

Is it a sin that I think this is better than TWD?

They might do what they did with TWD where they revealed that Lily in the game is not the same Lily in the comics since Lily confused alot of the comic readers.

Same.

I've not read the comics but the game does a great job of establishing the world it exists in.

I liked TWD but not as much as I liked TWAU.

It's difficult to compare an isolated episode to an entire entity, but the noir aesthetic and ethos definitely speaks a great deal more to me.

That... wouldn't really make much sense since this game is a prequel, thus they can't really do that.

Damn, this needs a spoiler thread...

Big fan of the comic series so I wanted to play it.
But I don't have any money for it.. Never heard of the Donkeyskin girl..
But I still felt horrible for her.. The best thing about Fables was how twisted they made classic fairy tales.. I mean, look what happened to Gepetto..

Nice. I definitely prefer this cover to the PB.

I'm surprised the donkeyskin fable is popular where I live ...
There were some movie about it made in the 70's.
It's called "Peau d'âne".Never saw it , but I've read this fable in many children book.

Played it, loved it. Great visual style and nuanced characters. The only bad part is now having to wait for the new episodes to come out! :(

I was shocked and upset by what happened at the very end, but am hoping there will be some solution/explanation in the next episodes.

December - assuming a two month wait - does suddenly feel a long way off! :pinched:

Was I the only thinking that it wasn't...final. I may have picked it up wrong, but I thought there was a clue suggesting otherwise earlier.

Sorry if that made absolutely no sense. I'm trying to be vague to avoid spoilers.

Since this is a prequel I'm pretty sure sure what happened isn't final. Plus, could be a trick since the next episode is called "Smoke and Mirrors".
