It's the end of the World? Why not get Married?

I think relationships should go the whole mile in game, and you should marry your LI (assuming you can LI). I know it sounds kind of silly, but maybe they work it into the story better than I could explain it. It's cool that the Inquisitor can be a self proclaimed badass and do things that legends are made of, like forming your own organization and saving the world, but what keeps them grounded? What's their rock? If marriage to a LI is to much then perhaps marriage to a NPC who isn't involved directly with your organization, a spouse you left at home?

Maybe they interact with you in other ways, like sending you letters that you can read back at the base?

Maybe they move from base to base which ever one you spend the most time at, or you can move them yourself from base to base. Maybe if a base falls under enemy occupation you could lose them, (assuming they are NPCs and not important party members), maybe you have to rescue them if they are party members or a npc. Maybe if they get captured more than once they get killed out right.

Of course only if it makes sense to work it into the development of the character, I wouldn't want it forced in or left meaningless like in Skyrim.

59 percent of marriages for women under the age of 18 end in divorce within 15 years.

Why get married whether the world is ending or not?

Uh... I would imagine so. I also seriously doubt that anyone will be marrying anyone under the age of 18 in this game.

Why not? If things go bad it's not like you have to live with the decision? If things go good, well i think the savior of the world can get out of his or her turn to clean the dishes, or picking up the kids from school.

Because that's just not right unless your name is Charlie Sheen or Tiger Woods.

this. I like romances but marrying seems to do nothing for the story in my eyes. And it isn't the games whole purpose. I like to think of the romances as a plus.

When the world is ending my first thought wouldn't be marrying my boyfriend. Sexing him up til the world ends, maybe, but with marriage there is no point if a future is unknown. All it is is a useless formality.

Agreed. I don't understand the fascination with having your LI's baby or marrying him/her.

I'd rather the PC and LI simply talked about their future together; marriage, kids and whatever is in character for that LI. I really liked that about ME. DAO had Zevran basically proposing and DA2 had Sebastian, so maybe DAI will follow suit. :)

Why not feed the poor?

Why not give a kidney?

Why not adopt a dog?

Why not get high?

Actually, I'd prefer Skyrim type marriages. I could deal with that.

There's actual benefits to being married in Skyrim, so that's clearly out of the question in a BW game.

Yep, Muiri cooked for me and gave me a share of her profits.

She is the standard by which I judge all my girlfriends now. :D

The option would be nice, I suppose. But only if the NPCactually wants to get married. Getting a flat out NO might be fun too, if it fits with the character.

So the inquisitor is to have no personal life, and is in fact a 80's action hero, who makes things explode and is to awesome for love, but is open to lust?

roger... this game is going to be DYNO-MITE!

Romance is already an option in the game, I'd say that qualifies as a personal life. Why does marriage have to be in the equation? It offers no benefit and won't differ from the romance you're already in.

Its a roleplaying game. its up to each individual player to decide if his or her character is like that, or open to love ;)
