It's ridiculous for anyone to claim DAI is in danger of become a dating sim.
It's not.
Romances are important to some people .
It's ludicrous to say romances are assuming too much importance .
The OP expressed his desire for a marriage option.
It won't happen.
No one is required to do the romances in DA games.
No romance fan is forcing Bioware to do them.
So it's useless to criticize romances in the BSN.
If you don't like them /don't want them then pick up the phone , call Bioware, ask to speak to Flynn, Laidlaw, Darrah, Gaider , Cameron Lee etc and tell whichever one you get on the phone you feel Bioware attaches too much importance to romances .
Or go to the next Pax/con they're at and tell them face to face.
shrugs.

Maybe Gaider should come in here and express his opinion about romances.

Go and read the thread Gaider closed .
Although it seems stuff was deleted.
Go back and read the dating sim thread.
Then you'll see.
Tired of the dating sim talk.
It's ridiculous .
shrugs.
The OP expressed what he would like to see. It won't happen.
To use Ninja Stan's words.
End of Line.

I'm a traditional woman and a fan of marriage. I like stories that have marriage and children in them, what's wrong about that? I think the option to marry your LI would be really cool, and if it was only an option then people who don't want marriage wouldn't have to do it.
The problem is, there is only so much time and resources that can be devoted to the game, and marriage seems like an unnecessary feature that adds nothing or very little and can potentially hinder aspects of the story, or not even make sense. Probably DAI will happen throughout a few months, like DAO. Do people often get married having known each other for just months?
Not that they would actually do it, but I don't think it would take much resources, just some extra dialogue and an epilogue slide or something. You could marry Sebastian in DA2 and you can marry companions in SWTOR. I know it's not realistic, but I can dream right?

In DA2 it made sense, since the story happened throughout seven years, so if marriage and even children would have been implemented there, it might have fit.
Also, is BioWare trying to tell us something by making the only chaste romance the only PCs can marry?

I don't want to see anything resembling that mockery of a marriage with Sebastian. Even Skyrim's "marriages" are preferable.

The big problem with marriage is that, IIRC, there's no same-sex marriage in Thedas. Major parity issue right there.

I don't know. The first game gave you achievements for romancing every romance-able character in your party.
