I'm hoping that one of you all can help me to re-locate a webpage I saw a couple weeks ago. The page presented what the author believed were the "default" or "canonical" choices for many major and minor actions in Origins and Awakening.

I know that sort of discussion is nothing new in this community, and I'm not trying to wade into a discussion about what choices represent the "official" line. I'm interested in this page because the author offered a lot of extremely specific information, including for example his or her understanding of which companions the "default" warden had taken along to specific parts of the game. I have no idea what this author based those guesses on, but I remember being intrigued and wanting to revisit the page later. The only problem is that now I can't find it!

I've seen many of the forum discussions and other pages addressing various interpretations of which choices are "canonical" or "default," but this page was pretty unusual among them in its specificity with respect to such things as which companions had come along for which parts of the game. It also was not a page speculating about the "default" choices set up in Awakening if the player doesn't import a save (I've seen those!).

If anyone knows this page or thinks they could find it, I'd certainly appreciate the help in sating my curiousity. I'd definitely know this webpage again if I saw it! Thanks in advance for any help.

Afraid not, Corker, but thanks for your effort. The page I'm remembering had an author offering his/her very extensive and detailed analysis of what choices the Warden had made throughout the game. As I said, what really stood out to me was that the author didn't just offer an analysis of major decisions (e.g., recruiting the elves or the werewolves), but also really subtle stuff, such as which companions had come to Redcliffe, which to Denerim, etc. I remembered this point really well because I'd never seen someone attempt to predict that level of detail. I don't know why I can't find it again, but I'm sure I'm not imagining it!

Sounds like something I'd love to have a read through.

Sorry I can't help, but if you do find it again, please link to it here.

Was it a BSN post?

Good question, Ferretinabun. I'm afraid that I'm not certain, but I don't think it was a BSN post. I remember vaguely that it may be a post over at Dragon Age Wiki, but I'm just not certain. I've been trying for a while to relocate it now, but with no luck, so I thought I'd turn to the folks on this board for help.

Don't think so, BevH, but thanks for your help. What I remember really standing out about this page was the author's assumptions about which companions were present during each part of the quest. I remember, for example, that he'd assumed that Zevran and Leliana had rescued the PC from Fort Drakon in his assessment of the "default" game. Of course, I have no idea how the author reached those conclusions, but that's why I'd like to find it again. Thanks again for your efforts, all.

For those who were interested, here is the page that I mentioned: http://wardensvigil....Aedan_Cousland. It's a bit less profound on a second reading than my initial may have suggested, but FYI. Thanks again to you all for your help.

Yeah, I think Warden's Vigil is a role-playing site. That'll be the 'canon' for their particular game.

I think I saw info for headcanon separate from the game. So, yes.

Also, I believe the default for Dragon Age III if you don't import a Warden is a female Dalish Elf who does the Ultimate Sacrifice.

Works for me as that was my first playthrough.

I don't remember it specifying a female Dalish, but the default is a Dalish, Ultimate Sacrifice > mage Hawke who sided with the mages.

Riverdaleswhiteflash has it right. According to this post, the 'default' Dalish Warden who did the US is female.

Mine certainly is, after being dropped by Alistair like a bad penny, she had nothing to live for.

Works for me too: I want to have no outcomes that line up with the default, and the fact that the default is US ensures that even if all the other default choices lined up with one of my characters. (If they're using the Martyr decisions from Dragon Age II that's not the case.)

Thanks TSM. As I said, I didn't remember if gender had been specified. Posted Image
