Shooting Mordin/Padok at the Shroud. Especially Mordin because you actually get to see him slowly crawl towards the panel before expiring.

When I finished the game I realized that ME3 has the worst ending I've ever experienced in the video game. I thought about good moments in the trilogy and how all of them have been ruined by this atrocity. That was pretty depressing.

Probably after the credits roll.... Just the fact that it's over. No more Shepard & Crew. No more Normandy & Joker. I'll really miss these characters. The next game has some big shoes to fill.

My second play-through was based on an ME2 where Garrus died. His absence was tangible throughout ME3. The calibration room was always closed. :(

Yeah, thinking about it, I can't really pinpoint a lot of parts of the game that are quite as miserable as this, especially if you're a big fan of Mordin, which I am. Even Wrex, the only other character who can actually die a brutal, bloody death in ME3 as a result of Shepard's choices, at least goes down fighting and bellowing.

If I had to name another scene, it would be that conversation over the radio during Priority: Earth at the London HQ, between a woman tending to someone who's wounded and the soldier, though you have to stand still for a while to really appreciate it.

Kasumi being with hologram Keiji in the Synthesis ending. It broke my heart to see her story end like that... the real Keiji wanted her to move on and now she never will.

Losing the VS. I didn't even like Ashley and that was sad.

Thane's prayer at the end of his life

Tali finding her dad. Yes, it had the Interrupt, but damn.

The almost-kiss with Samara in ME2

Reading Miranda's character profile on the Shadow Broker DLC.

I don't know, something resonated with me that she personally sought an answer as to whether or not she could have children. She probably already knew in her heart, then finding out that she couldn't....It changed, yet strengthened, my Shepard's relationship with her, in a way.

Also thought it added to her character development, in terms of softening her from the Cerberus receptionist.

I found my first runthrough of the Genophage arc kind of depressing. Well, 'depressing' is a strong word, I don't really get that emotional about fiction in general, but yeah. The whole time I was planning to take the Dalatrasses offer, and then Wrex starts calling me "brother" and "friend". I couldn't bring myself to sabotage the cure, even though I feel like it is the more prudent choice, but just the fact that I was thinking about it the whole time made me feel like my Shep was being an utter d!ck. And the fact that a whole new war might start up because Shep couldn't do the hard thing was a little grim in itself.

The Death of Thane...

Mordins death..when he sacrificed himself in that tower

Grunt's death....(i guess they just replaced Wrex with Grunt in other play- throughs)...all of these scenes was particularily gripping when these events happened....

That whole segment before Shepard goes up into that beam...i felt a sense of hopelessness, like everything was lost..that reaper obliterated everything..combat teams was taking massive loses left and right...first time i played it i was like wtf?....there's no coming back from that...

ME1 - Pinnacle Station. (I paid money for it and now I'm depressed).

But on a serious note I think the most depressing moment for me was when Wrex died during my very first playthrough of ME1, I hadn't done his family armor mission and I did not have enough points in Paragon or Renegade to talk him down... I was almost in tears.
Then that was followed by the painful decision of who to leave behind on Virmire... Ashley or Kaiden, both character I'd grown quite fond of.

I'd also add a scene on board of the Alarei in ME2 when you play a log of a Quarian mother who says goodbye to her child shortly before she is gunned down by a Geth.

Plus for me personally the Virmire decision. I liked both Allianze squadmates very much.

ME1:  "I Remember Me" Talitha giving us a look at what being a slave to the batarians was like.  As well as the attack on Mindoir.

Virmire, having to leave someone behind

Vigil's description of the Protheans falling to the Reapers

Bring Down the Sky:  Kate Bowman mourning her brother's death

ME2

Mordin's loyalty mission, seeing the true horror the genophage has wreaked upon the krogan

Tali's loyalty mission: encountering the body of Rael'Zorah, as well as Jonah's mother's final recording

Suicide Mission:  Witnessing Lilith's death

Samara's loylaty mission:  talking with Nef's mother

ME3:

Thane's final prayer

Fall of Thessia

Mordin's death in the Shroud

PTSD asari

And yes, the ending in it's entirety.  It eclipses everything else listed here.  Deal with it.

- Most background conversations on the Citadel (the PTSD Asari, the teen refugee waiting for her parents who never turn up, delivering Charr's final message to the Blue Rose of Illium, the dying message of one of the asari commandos to her bondmate, the Turian who told his wife to take their kids and go to Sanctuary, the Human who wants to send her Asari daughter to Thessia, etc),
- The aftermath of the mission on Thessia (the radio chatter, the conversations with Tevos, Anderson and Liara)
- The Elcor ambassador...when you report back to him, Shepard asks how many civilians they managed to evacuate and he simply responds: "Not... enough."
- The epilogue slides for Tuchanka if you sabotaged the cure (my "canon" Shepard sabotaged the cure...and felt like sh*t afterwards). Thessia, Earth...everything is rebuilt. Tuchanka...a slide of a Krogan female sitting alone in a desert, perhaps waiting to be eaten by a Thresher Maw, and the Rachni have obviously overrun the planet.
