Probably after the credits roll.... Just the fact that it's over. No more Shepard & Crew. No more Normandy & Joker. I'll really miss these characters. The next game has some big shoes to fill.

Jonah's parents' last goodbyes and Tali finding her dad.

Sacrificing the Quarian crew to save Admiral Koris.

The deaths of Martin Sheen and Keith David. I mean TIM and Anderson.

Sending Mordin up the shroud.

Loosing Thane.

Reegar and Emily Wong getting killed off-screen.

Not being able to save the squads of Prazza and Reegar.

Those were the saddest moments for me.

After Thessia.

The only thing that depresses me in this game is seeing my character depressed for no good reason - and not out of my choice.

Shepard's emotions are for the player to feel, but alas, in ME3, the big character hijacking happens. That alone is depressing.

Auto-Dialogue causing the wussification of my ruthless Shepard i.e.

-depression over injured squad mate (Ashley)
-nightmares about kid

Yet had no problems sending 3/4 of my squad to their death (Ruthless background) plus all the kills I racked up throughout the game.

Also, didn't seem to be to much of a problem for my Shepard to put a bullet in Mordin's back.

Started play of ME3 and found out Tali was dead.
Damn Raan is gangsta. -- this was not depressing.
Having to kill Legion.
Failure to win the Mirror Match in the Citadel DLC because of the Krogan Fail bug. Wrex and Grunt are useless -- just stand in one place and don't shoot, or melee. Enemy just ignores them too. They will use carnage or throw a grenade but you have to tell them to. Then they will follow you around and do nothing but get in your way. Liara and Garrus are better. Javik won't stay in cover.

Yeah the crew abduction scene does not really hold up well when you put any real thought into it. I was pretty entertained/amused by it on the first go though, and I guess that's what really counts.

Well, technically, he was right that it was possible to assume control over the reapers; he just had no good reason to believe that the Crucible did any such thing, unless he saw something in the bits of data he stole that every other person on the project missed...

Granted, their abduction makes zero sense, but you make up for it by being able to rescue them all. My main problem having most of them disappear entirely for ME3, I get Scotty and his girlfriend back, but Kelly gets shoehorned off to make room for Samantha, and where the heck is Gardner my janitor and cook?! The Normandy is only filled to half capacity, and it would have been very nice to see (and possibly settle) conflicts between the ex-Cerberus crewmembers, (who are more loyal to Shepard personally), and the new Alliance crewmembers, who very likely be more loyal to the Alliance itself. Anyone agree?

The disappearance of my more loyal crew is depressing.

When the rachni queen first speaks. Talk about getting a crappy deal in life.

edit: I mean in ME1. Her predicament in ME3 is depressing too though.

Killing off the quarians to save the geth. Even if you believe it's the right choice, the game does not look kindly on you for it. First you get Legion dying as per usual, but then you get to see all the other quarians getting mowed down because that idiot Gerrel didn't know what the word 'retreat' means. Then they cap it all off by sending Tali over the cliff, complete with a red herring Paragon interrupt just to yank the chain further. Then you get to go back to the ship with everyone except EDI upset at you for what you did. Forced geth sympathy, my ass.

Yes and I'm very glad BW made the scene the way it is.

You've done something very bad and you should feel bad.

I don't think there's any right or wrong thing to "feel" about Rannoch. They're both stupid. Pick your poison. Or pick both.

OP, are you speaking of sad moments, moments that made you feel bad, or really depressing ones?

IMO the only really depressing one is the original ending. No use to go into details yet again, but personally, no other game, nor book, has ever delivered such an emotional punch in the gut.

As for other memorable moments with negative emotions, shooting Mordin stands out. I - and my main Shepard with me - do not believe in curing the genophage, so it had to be prevented, but shooting a well-liked companion for it, that was about the hardest action I ever took.

It is depressing, that's why I would never do that. I love Legion and all,but I would never destroy and organic race to save machines who can always be rebuilt later, that is of course if I had to pick one.
