They should have ditched all choices and made the trilogy a straight up TPS with spellcasting with no pretense of choices since they've completely failed at it.

I propose a middle ground: keep some manageable choices in, but limit the scale or keep the big ones specific to a single game---like the choices in DA:O.

Things like the rachni frustrate the hell out of me and maybe should have been reworked to impact only ME1, but I enjoy how the Tuchanka arc and its choices---Wrex or Wreav, Mordin, Eve, the genophage---played out.

If something as significant as the changes in the genophage arc can be done properly, the rachni could have received the same treatment. They either ran out of time, or couldn't come up with anything.

That's something I thought about as well, ditching the EPIC GALAXY CHANGING CHOICES!!!! and downscaling things to more along the lines of Saints Row the Third  were you'd get various bonuses (weapons, upgrades, money, companions, etc) for the various choices you do. That and the choices being relegated to simply being how you go about handling things like Human Revolution or Dishonored while still achieving the same general goal.

Problem is,  i have my doubts the ME team could even handle that.

The removal or dice-rolling preservation of a species is a far more substantial situation than a potential cure that can smartly reuse visual assets.

It's better to tell people who don't like ME2 to simply **** off. And then move on. Don't get lost in some delusion that you'll convince them of anything - or they will convince of anything in turn. Just embrace the hate. Everyone wins. I think. :?

It's one thing to try to convince people ME2 was a good game, it's another to hold it up as "canon" and bash ME3.

I personally love ME2. I think it's my favorite oft eh franchise, because of the different, slower story title. But even I can understand it doesn't really advance the plot at all. Gives us additional knowledge of the Reapers, yes, but that's DLC (Leviathon) material, not a complete game.

Patrick already comfirmed they where going to do another mission for Grunt if you killed the rachni queen but they ran out of time, now why they deicded to put the rachni queen with Grunt is a whole new can of worms.

Your choice in ME1 and ME3 basically determines if the Rachni race driven to the verge of extinction is either destroyed, made into a pariah, or brought into the galactic community - ther survival ensured by the very Korgan race uplifted to destroy them in the first place.  I thought the story was quite good. *Shrug* could have been better, but everything could be better.

What does any of this have to do with ME's most depressing momements?

Oh, you know this place. It just would be BSN without people bashing ME3 and holding ME2 in high regard, then of course people bashing that and holding ME1 in high regard.

The cycle cannot be broken.

True, it has the best gameplay in the trilogy and unlike ME2 has a focused plot that advances the overarching one.

Now THIS needs screen-capped.

ME3 is great as a self-contained story, terrible as a sequel. Unfortunately, it was written to be the former.

Sounds like you're talking about ME2 to me.

No crap, man. I just enjoyed video games until I discovered the internet and BSN and that I really should HATE Sonic Chronicles, and HATE ME2 and 3, and HATE DA ][, and HATE DmC, and HATE DMC4, and HATE Oblivion, then HATE Skyrim next, and HATE Call of Duty, and HATE EA.

Humans.

Eh, what can you do.

I hate ME3's ending regardless of whether anyone else likes it or not. If I was the only person who hated it, I'd still hate it. I seem to be in the minority here in that I love ME2, and think of it as being the best part of the trilogy, as well as my favorite game of all time. It's definitely the best game for me. I've never played Sonic Chronicles, and actually heard good things about it, but I have no Nintendo DS, nor any interest. I dislike DA2 regardless of other's opinions on it, and I hate EA because I really see their practices as more in line of trying to exploit the gaming market rather than investing in their developers to wait and give them time to make a game as good as it possibly can be and releasing it. CoD is in my opinion a mindless arcade shooter.

I think you're being too critical of the humans though.

I'm not sure it's possible to be too critical of humans, in general at least.

Rats, I was hoping I wasn't the only one who just has to laugh at Palmer turning around, leaning over, and smacking his butt in front of Cloud.
