And the "death" options are there even if you have peace, so the wheel has to be designed to fit them.

I don't see why the wheel can't be worked around a bit based on the  options availible

The idea that 'characters are not popular based on how much they suck up to the player' is a nitpick now? Is nitpick just a word we throw around to discredit any argument we don't like?

In any case, you're supporting my point. You liked Vega when he confronted you. Players don't like characters based on how much they supposedly suck up.

I outlined a dialogue wheel with both "peace" persuasions at the top and both genocide paths on the bottom, but even that serves only to further cement the reflex of clicking whatever happens to be at the top of the wheel without thinking about it.

All the more reason the system needs to go.

Crud Bonemeal is... regrettably necessary for new players, but boring as all hell otherwise.

That he is, I didn't expect to like him as much as I ended up doing.

Him and Javik were my henchmen from start to finish.

David's nitpicks have become so bad I don't even know what he's trying to nitpick anymore.

If we bring back seival and auld wolf, we have to have birdsallsa as well.

I wanted to like jacob because he was the first character to have his own opinion, but I didn't like the general tone or reasoning I got from him. It was more him being a d--- just to be a d--- than having a legitamate reason to bite back at shepard.

In ME3 even though I used the renegade interrupt on vega during the opening, I immediately respected him and felt he was going to be fleshed out. Why? He gave shepard an honest no bull---- piece of his mind.

oh good sir, TeamBirdsallSa isn't gone. No, no. We are every where and we are no where. But I digress, Jacob isn't a bad guy or character he's just a player. And Garrus is Shep's BFF. Not really problems.

And that's the end of Commander Shepard.

Um, no. Shepard's a significantly better fighter and has numerous cybernetic enhancements.

Commander Shepard isn't Superman, and cannot dodge 00 buckshot at point blank range. I'm sorry. It doesn't work like that.

A. you're not using buckshot in futuristic military shotguns, and B. that's what shields are for. Especially if Shepard's a biotic.

The Wraith uses what is essentially buckshot, so does the Eviscerator and the Graal

The time Garrus ended up frozen in carbonate and shepard lost his hand, only to find out that darth saren was his father, was pretty damn sad if you think about it. The main heroes lose, have to run away with their tail between their legs, and one friend short.

Of course one could say the same thing about the prequels where order 66 has all the alliance marines kill the specteres while emporer harper end ups taking the throne, so it's not saying much.

Shepard survived a DIRECT hit from the most powerful reaper in known existence.

Shep can survive anything. Why???

Jacob's burn on Tali after she was dumping on Cerberus was hilarious.

According to this Wikipedia article I spent 5 seconds tracking down, what the shotguns fire is not buckshot at all.

'Larger sizes of shot, large enough that they must be carefully packed into the shell rather than simply dumped or poured in, are called "buckshot" or just "buck.'

In other words, buckshot is distinguished by its size. And since the shotguns fire tiny pellets, it's not going to qualify.

@David

No, david, I'm rreferring to your little 5-10 word snippets that don't really make a point, just poke and prod. You know what I'm talking about.

@Deinon

Both peace options on the left, kill the quarians on the left in the middle, kill the geth on the right by itself. IMO, that seems like something that would make people stop and think more.

@Neon

Fair point. I guess jacob just always rubbed me the wrong way.

Of course we all know of my unrequited mancrush for God-tier Javik.

Okay then from a frakking Claymore X with her Disrupter Rounds maxed, and shredder mod V, at point blank range in Ashley's quarters. Ha ha. Not happening. Shepard is not wearing armor.

And a bullet is a bullet. FYI the most powerful high explosive in use today was invented in the 1890s. Just to let you know about "futuristic".

The Graal firse farily large chucks of metal, so do the two other guns I mentioned.  Its in their descriptions.

That's the best you can do?

'Jacob is Jacob'?

I've never romanced jacob myself or had any interest in learning about it other than "the priiiize" and his cheating in ME3. And like I said, he was actually pretty popular with the ladies, as far as I know (ridiculous pick up lines nothwithstanding).

No. He wasn't.

Is it not clear how clumsy and ridiculous your supposed 'explanation' is?

Characters are not popular based on much they supposedly suck up to the player.

Yes they are and you're being childish if you can't see it. Either that or trolling.
What's clumsy is you defending your waifu. What is, in your opinion, the reason behind her popularity?

Shepard has shields either way, you can see this in a couple of bits in ME2 and ME3 where you're without armor (such as the infiltration of Hock's party in ME2). And this is, of course, ignoring the fact that someone would likely spot the crazy woman in the shuttle bay with a shotgun.

What sort of 'use' are we talking about? Because if we're talking any kind of use, there's utterly no way in hell that's true.

Laboratory use? Industrial use? Military use?

I can guarentee you with near certainty modern chemistry has given has more powerful chemical explosives than were available in 1890. How widespread and cheap those explosives are is another matter.
