Go here, here, and here.
If anyone has seen Star Wars: The Clone Wars or Young Justice or both, then this show is a good reason to get excited. If I haven't watched Young Justice but I know who Greg Weisman is. I saw Gargoyles when I was a kid and I remember liking it a lot. Star Wars: The Clone Wars basically heightened my interest in Star Wars and get me back into it. While I haven't watched Young Justice, I know the reputation that precedes it. I would suggest watching both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Young Justice to anyone who's looking for good television.
This new series that's coming out in 2014 has gotten me just as excited as Episode VII. The one detail, the thing deplorable thing about it is that it's set five years before Episode VI, which is horrible because it's a missed opportunity. We could have explored "the dark times" as Obi-Wan Kenobi called them at it's beginning, with the rise of Imperial apartheid and exploring the vast quanity of time that's being left unexplored by the series. With the decision to set the series five years before Episode VII, they've left 14 years of the Imperial era unexplored. There may be exposition or flashbacks later on in the series, but we'll never see the events that might have taken place in those 14 years in more detail. That's annoying.
But again, that's basically the one big detraction about the series. The animation(which is based off of Ralph McQuarrie's art) looks splendid, Dave Filoni and Greg Weisman are involved, it takes place between Episode III and Episode VI(which isn't explored enough), and it fleshes out the Empire. Plenty of reason to be excited.

But you're forgetting: it never changed into an "Ahsoka Tano Show." The focus on Ahsoka was about the same as it always has been. She had her own arc in Season 5, but that was because it was her final arc.OdanUrr wrote...
I watched two or three seasons but dropped it when it became the Ahsoka Tano Show. With all that talk about a Band-of-Brothers-like show I expected to see more about the clones and their struggle. I was disappointed.

The main villain will be an Imperial Inquisitor wielding a new type of dual-bladed lightsaber. Darth Vader has assigned him to hunt down the remaining Jedi.
The series will be set fourteen years after Revenge of the Sith[/i], i.e. five years before A New Hope[/i].
There will be a storyline involving the frontier planet Lothal, where the Imperials will try to recruit the natives using propaganda posters.
All stormtroopers are volunteers. There is no draft.
None of the stormtroopers will be clones. This is because, according to George Lucas' notes, the clones proved too individualistic, whereas stormtrooper recruits will be more patriotic. Some of the clones still alive went on to train the stormtroopers, while others became disaffected with the new regime.
New Imperial character and vehicle designs include: troopers, an AT-DP (All Terrain Defense Pod), a freighter, a telescoping speeder bike, and a Kenner-inspired troop transport.
No assets from The Clone Wars[/i] will be used because the animation style is too different.
The show will feature some kind of Jedi presence.
There may be appearances by characters from The [/i][/i]Clone Wars[/i].
Although the crew has less lead time on Star Wars Rebels[/i] than they did onThe Clone Wars[/i], they are working faster because of the experience they gained on TCW[/i].
George Lucas is not involved in production of Rebels[/i], although his older notes still influence the creative process.
The series will progress in chronological order, following a core group of main Rebel characters.
There will be major emphasis on the Imperial side of things too. Their development will occur alongside that of the heroes.
The series will shift in tone in the fourth episode, although what this means was not made clear.
The Empire and the Rebellion are not the only major forces in the series. There may be bounty hunters as well.[/list]
The bolded parts are the parts that I REALLY like. I especially like how the stormtroopers aren't drafted but actually volunteer for the Empire. That speaks volumes about the Imperial propaganda and how effective it is at brainwashing the Imperial populace. I especially like how the Imperial sides of things are going to be explored more. I really hope we get a lot of insight into the going-ons of the Empire. It's also good that the Empire and Rebellion aren't the only major forces. Here's hoping it's not just the bounty hunters but the Death Watch, Nightsisters, Sun Guard, and Maladians as well. Another thing that's gotten me excited is that there's probably going to be TCW characters appearing in the series.
Besides the fact that it starts five years before Episode IV, this new series is looking splendid!

Anywho, here's more news about the series.
Not much, really. At this point, we may get more information on the series perhaps in the next Star Wars Celebration.

I saw a couple of things like this in Star Wars Wikia(Wookiepedia) and such, but that was some time ago...
Returning Characters from the Clone Wars... We could see Ashoka, since her end was left unexplained(sort of... I want to see if she's dead or not
Also, I am really looking forward to it, since Episode III came from, I was wondering how many Jedi left, how was their purge, etc.
I hope that we actually see Mandalorians

To be fair, they thought it'd be their only season.

There was I thinking this'd be a thread devoted to exposing Rebel Alliance as terrorists that they are.
It's funny just how true this is. We're all cheering on a bunch of terrorists xD

I hope that's what the show is about. If they play it that the Inquisitor is trying to prevent Rebel terrorism & isn't so much an evil character... Like Continuum, but Star Wars. If they have Rebels in the name, it better be Rebels & not more Jedi.

The chances of a Space n*** being shown as a nice guy are about 0. He´s called the Inquisitor, that says it all.

How so? They haven't committed an act of terrorism as far as I'm concerned. If you cite the blowing up of the Death Star as an example, that was because it was about to blow up the Rebel Alliance's base on Yavin 4. Luke Skywalker blowing up the Death Star was an act of self-defense.simfamSP wrote...

Expect there to be an anti-Empire message. After all, the Empire WAS horrible. It'll show the other side of the story but chances are it'll take into account that at the end of the day, despite the Imperials' justification to the contrary, they are bad people(maybe not bad inside, but definitely and dangerously misguided).RedArmyShogun wrote...
This will either be good to watch,. or a giant wrecking ball into the canon with a giant anti-Empire message. Guess which I'm betting on, or the fact I won't be watching it is telling enough.

Propaganda will also play a role in the stories.
I like how the Imperial army is completely made up of volunteers. It really speaks volumes about the powerful sway of Imperial propaganda. Really hope they keep showing us parallels between the Empire and **** Germany.

I don't see your point. We don't really know anything about that character. That image is probably there to show that he's evil. Other than that, he can still be developed into a complex character like Darth Maul or Asajj Ventress in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, to give a few examples.
