Currently going through this thread page by page, but felt I needed to interject here...
España says no...:innocent:

Spain is a mediocre team these days and they play boring football -_-

Man, they don't make threads like this anymore!

Also, LOL! If other teams weren't so scared of us and stop playing 5-5-0 against us, our games would be much more exciting, because we would win 5-0.B)
Once we unleash Isco at the world cup, no-one will stop us...

Btw, you Americans should watch and play more rugby. It's basically the men's, non-commercialsed version of Gridiron (what we call American football...)

Retarded people hate on Spanish football because they play smart.

Two major surgeries in two years convinced me that playing in college was as far as I wanted to go.

I played center and ran a 4.9 40 at 305.  I could also run a sub 6 minute mile and regularly outlasted the running backs and linebackers during workouts.  Don't worry, I had plenty athleticism to play halfback in high school.  In high school I was only 255, but wouldn't have had any issue playing at my college football level either.

I always enjoyed big boying little soccer players.  I am also an avid cyclist that loves climbing hills

4.9? At 305? With those numbers, you must be between 6'2" and 6'5". Which college did you play at?

6'3". Played at a CUSA school. UAB. Most people know us for Roddy White. Played alongside him there.

So why did you quit? Didn't you want to fill your body with AAS or something like all the other guys that play fake football?

Roddy White is a good player but his name is a bit deceiving, he is actually black.

Exactly! As boring as I sound if you understand football, it's why I've always preferred Serie A and La Liga over the Premiership. Far more intelligence and tactical ability in those two leagues. Americans watch too much Premiership and think all football is like that. Even I get bored of Premiership football sometimes and I live in England...

The Bundesliga is where it's at now, the Germans will continue their march on Europe. Besides, Serie A has such a long and pervasive history of cheating that I find it difficult to take seriously anymore.
La Liga is great though, I'll give you that.

Yeah, I think few people can argue about the strength of the Bundesliga nowadays, in particular Dortmund and Munich. But as you would expect, not a lot of coverage is given to German football in England...:innocent:

Also Kany, Madrid WANTS the rematch...

Because falling on the ground crying after pretending to get hit takes so much intelligence.

Professional soccer is a game for sissies, much akin to baseball IMO except at least something usually happens in baseball.

I have to say now that the thread is about football, it is way more enjoyable. Even though I'm not much of a football fan at all. I prefer Formula 1, hockey and basketball (then again, I haven't watched TV in one and a half year by now, if anything I watch livestreams on the internet for bigger events, so I really don't qualify as a "fan").

edit://
@ cowwy:
Hah, in Serie A, yeah. Those Italians are always so melodramatic. But try rolling on the ground for sympathy points in the Premier League. British fans don't give a flying ***, if anything you're gonna be called a sissy for lying on the ground instead of playing.

I'm not even a fan of football and what you described is exactly why I am not one.

Still, the thing about Barcelona/Spanish national team is what I'm talking about as smart - hiding the ball to the opposite team, exploiting the small openings to create a scoring chance. Casual football fans don't like it because "it's boring" but it takes incredible amounts of technical skill and intelligence to pull off.

Unfortunately, F1 is rapidly becoming as much of a procession as it was during Schumacher's peak. At least the first couple of Vettel's titles were quite close, this one has been a cake-walk.

I hope the rule changes and different engines next year will shake things up a bit but Adrian Newey will no doubt still be able to design the best car.

Well, as you said, once in a time you get the combination of an exceptionally talented driver in an exceptionally well designed car ... the outcome is total domination as we saw it during Schumacher's peak and right now with Vettel.

The problem isn't really that they are too superiour, it rather is that there are too many trying to take the win. When you think about it, you have Ferrari, Mercedes, Lotus and McLaren, all of whom have great cars and great drivers, all racing to catch Vettel. The result is them fighting each other more than actually closing in on Vettel and the latter simply is a good enough driver with a good enough car to exploit that "infighting" to take a lead the others simply can't overcome by the end of a match.
And Vettel is surpremely good at controlling his pace, which means if he's at the top, he's likely to stay there. Combine that again with his skill at churning out best rounds during Qualifying and you simply are as close to perfection as it gets.

You're German aren't you, Neofelis? How is Vettel thought of in his home country? Because he gets a lot of unfair criticism in the UK, with people always questioning his ability and attributing his success solely to the Red Bull. He's also been boo'd several times on the podium this season. Again, similar to what Schumacher had to deal with.

Well, as I've said, I don't really watch TV, just livestreams and then only the race as I'm entirely uninterested in the gossip, so I'm not really qualified to answer that question.

But I think it's a universal problem every outstanding athlete has to deal with once they reached a certain level of "domination". People grow tired of predictable results fast and winners aren't much fun if they always win without much competition.

That's all I can say, really.

It's the same for any sport. If one person/team begins to dominate, everyone hates that person/team. Vettel will go down as one of the greatest F1 drivers ever and people don't appreciate how difficult it is to always qualify pole or near enough, then dominate a race time after time. His consistency is amazing and he never makes mistakes nowadays, unlike his other championship wins.

Would love to see who would come out on top with equal machinery though. My money wouid be on Hamilton to win the most races, but Alonso to win the championship through consistancy.

 hahahahaha! Would that be because all the best South American footballers tend to start European life in La Liga? Face it, those leagues and tournaments you like contain many of La Liga's feeder clubs...
Btw, you need to truly appreciate football to enjoy Serie A. But both Spain and Italy are plagued with diving sissys. It's the only thing I hate about both leagues...

Broncos are amazing, but... My Jags showed the (old) blue print for beating them last week... Rough up the receivers, hit Manning early and often, play shell coverages and make him take the checkdowns, don't give up the big play. Same thing teams have been doing to high powered passing offenses for as long as I can remember... Look no further back than the Pats defense mauling to Colts recievers in their dynasty years.
