Can we go back to the original design for the Templar armor?

DA2's templar armor was the best armor in the game next to the Grey Warden set and mage champion armor. I think it looks more superior than the Origins version, much more detailed and much more realistic for a set of plate armor. The only thing I suggest is that Inquisition contains Cullen's concept art templar armor for us that has robe-like clothing attached to it but doesn't form a complete dress around the legs:

This looks so much more better.

Logically, they shouldn't wear heavy armor, it is because they are fighting Mages, Mages run so fast and using magic, heavy armor is heavy, how they want to chase Mages who are faster not wearing any armor and not using any weapon? They no need to carry shield, because it is no use against magic.

They should just wear robes or chainmail and a sword, it is more practical for close quarter in the Circle and faster movement, less fatigue, practical against Mages

I like the silver paired with the burgundy purple more than the atrocious, gaudy red and yellow. However, the armor plating itself looks better in DA2.

The DA2 version is much better.

The DA:O Templar armor is far too bulky and suffers from having the ridiculously oversized pauldrons that for whatever reason are common fantasy RPG games. This is what pauldrons should look like:

I am OK with either version. But leave the skirt for ceremonial purposes only - fighting in skirts is a drag - no pun intended!

Or perhaps redesign the battle skirts. I believe that in the DA era most would have been dressed in skirts and leggings.

I prefer that each nation has their own armor style. So when we go to Orlais we should expect it to look..."Pretty" if the Tallis DLC shows us anything.

I personally think the templar armor isn't practical. They're completely top heavy.

Tbh in term of armor and weapons I like DA2 a lot more. With some exceptions (gigantic longswords, some darkspawn designs. I have to admit I like Legacy's genlocks more than DA:O's)

And from what I've seen I'll be liking even more DA:I's. Sometimes I feel as if Bioware had taken ideas out of my brain, or read it. Most of the things I wish they made are becoming real.

Now, if I could just have the grey warden armor for warrior from Legacy without the wings in the helmet, and red instead of blue...what? I didn't thought any of the other ideas would become true.

(as for those ideas if you're wondering things like more interactivity with the environment, some jump or roll, more open areas to explore, several playable races...)

I prefer the more sombre colours of DA:O, but otherwise favour the DA2 version.

I like the purple from the DAO armor, but based on Matt Rhodes' concept art, it looks like they may be staying with the style of DA2. I'm sure it will have changed a bit from DA2 to Inquisition, though. I look forward to seeing it.

And just to make certain, we're talking about normal templar armor, not the red templar armor, right?

I actually preffer the DA2 ones. The ones from DA:O had those oversized shoulder thingys. Adding unnessecary weight to an allready heavy armour feels abit off.

I actually prefer the DA2 armor. Red and gold seem more fitting for religious fanatics dedicated to persecuting mages, and I actually believe the headwings to be a nice touch. Also there were things in the DAO armor that were ridicoulus, like the bucket helm and extra large shoulder pats. Though I agree something should be done about the skirt and ultra heavy parts to make it more practical and believable.

I like the skirt. I want to find out what's under it.

The funny thing is in DA2, Templar Hunter doing back flip wearing heavy armor...not only that, they also can run as fast as any rogues in which make them invisible and reappear behind target to back stab while wearing heavy armor

I dunno...I kinda like the winged helmet, and the pauldrons and vambraces are more reasonably sized on the second one (though I think they should be bigger the other way - pauldrons are supposed to cover the whole shoulder).

I don't mind the skirt so much, I see it as part of their livery. As for whether it's practical or not, I've seen women fight in bill lines wearing medieval dresses, so it can't be that impractical. :P

Shields deffinatly ARE a use agaist magic, We've seen it a few times, most noticably in DA2 when the Templars attack the mages at the end, when the mages  hoing ie at hem hy covered behind their shields which protected them from the fire...

The differences don't make sense because of region.
All Knights of St John wore the same gear. All Knights Templar wore the same gear. A consistent uniform regardless where they're located.

I too am one of those who prefer the DA2 armour though. More sensible scaling, it actually looks like an effective suit of armour.

DA2 armor superior. DAO armor inferior.

What are you calling inferior? Nobody would wear an uncharismatic bore like DA 2 Templar Armor!

Seriously I think they are both fine.
