The point I'm attempting to make is that, prior to Bioware titles, I've never played games where breasts or penises became an issue.

I'm not going to argue about what the gaming industry does as a whole. That's beyond this thread's purpose ... well, it was originally, at any rate. I came into this thread specifically because it discussed Bioware's possible plans for romance scenes in DAI, nothing more, nothing less.

You need to play more video games.

Whatever. I've been playing video games for 30 years now. Yeah, 30 damn years. Apparently you're playing titles that have far more destructive attitudes toward women than the ones I play.

I fail to see how nudity is downright "destructive". Most people who want it download the mods for it anyways. It doesn't have to be a porn game but partial nudity has its places and uses.

I'm not arguing against partial nudity.

From Mr. House's post, I got the impression that he suggested I didn't play much in the way of games, or not the right kind of games, in terms of being able to argue for or against the merits of varying states of nudity in Bioware games. That post was meant to point out how long I've been gaming, not that I'm against bare bottoms, breasts and penises in appropriately romantic settings within Bioware games.

Let's have the conversations & dialogue feel genuine and sincere or 'tasteful' at the very least - I find that far more important than any given sex scene. The thing with nudity in some recent games is that said content feels more like the developers wanting to show off rather than adding anything to overall experience. Heavy Rain had that one shower scene, with bare breasts, which felt utterly pointless beyond satisfying your average Joe, perhaps. Metro Last Light had something equally pointless too. Most of the time it just feels out of place and preposterous and thus not really adding anything at all. "Look! We have breasts because we can!" I say, if they want to add it in so badly, then okay - But try to focus on having the conversations, characterizations, possibly leading up to it, be a bigger priority.

Why do people make the nudity or sex scenes such a big deal? Yeah, they are important for many reasons (be it good AND bad) but isn't making the LIs interesting characters and making them show in different ways how much they care for you a lot more important? Sex scenes need to stop being shown as an objective to be achieved. Imo THAT'S the way to be mature about it...

I've seen far, far more people who are outright condemning everyone who enjoys romances as ****** nolifes with a waifu complex, than anyone obsessed with boobs.
