I just wanted to point to the interview which the Gamespot article quotes from; it is very good (it seems) interview with Cinematic Director, Jonathan Perry, at GamerZines, please go here:
http://www.gamerzine...ew-talking.htmlHe discusses cinematics and how it has evolved during the time Bioware has made games. In this context, he talks about romance and love - and yes, sex scenes. Most notably, I find, Perry is talking about the use of an 'intelligent camera':
So instead of just switching back and forth between these over the shoulder cameras, still using these stages, we can create cameras that are intelligent. They can react to what’s going on in scene, so if you’re really upsetting somebody or the relationship is taking a turn for the worse we can start to drop the camera down or pitch it up, so it feels a bit more hostile, or if you’re making all the right moves in that romance conversation, flirting back and forth, we can have the camera push in. I think it’s really cool that we have an intelligent camera at this point, so it opens up a lot more opportunities to make these scenes feel unique.
He also talks about how the camera works in the cutscenes and other relevant stuff, om page two of the interview they talk about the ME3 ending and the party members (we know Varric is returning party member), also this:
You will have some time before you actually become the Inquisitor. We’ll open up with the events that cause this giant rift in the sky and show that the organisations and the groups of Dragon Age that would normally do something are completely incapable of responding, so there is a need to form this Inquisition. There is a need for leader of the Inquisition and, for reasons we won’t mention, your character becomes that leader.
I'm sorry if this seems I'm highjacking the thread; it was not my intention, my intention was to point to the Gamerzine article from which the Gamespot quotes come from. Also thank you to jaza for pointing us the the Gamespot article in the first place.
