I have recently picked up the ultimate edition, and I have just finished installing it onto my computer. I have played mmo's and learned different roles such as tanking, dps and support/healer. I love to tank and I loved healing, I have heard that mages in Dragon Age have a class that lets them spec like a warrior, but do they have a tanking spec or is there anyway to create a mage in such a way that it can tank. If not what would be the best tank in Dragon Age? A rogue or a warrior? If you could help me out I would be grateful, thank you
New to Dragon age

Yes, Arcane Warrior specialization lets your mage be a tank, if you wish. However, it will take a while before you can get that specialization. For the other classes a sword and shield warrior makes a good tank.

Is there a website to look at how to make an Arcane warrior, become a tank?

To become an Arcane Warrior, you need to unlock the specialization by going to the Brecilian Forest ruins as part of the "Nature of the Beast" storyline. (You have to wait until after you pass through Lothering to go there.) There's a side room in the Lower Ruins that contains a gem with the trapped soul of an elven Arcane Warrior. If you agree to destroy the gem, he will teach you the specialization. Once that's done, any of your mages can become an Arcane Warrior.
Keep in mind that, as a mage, you won't be able to draw threat like a proper Sword and Shield Warrior tank. However, the Arcane Warrior specialization can make you absurdly tough.

Are you playing on PC or console ?
Your team will not be ready for Brecilian forest after Lothering,
it is better to do DLC like Stone prisoner, Wardens keep, and Return to ostagar first,
and Redcliffe is also easier at lower level, Mage tower is also good to do earlier.
Rock armor and spell shield will help your survivability a lot, they are my first 2 spells.
Erik's guide linked to above is a very good introduction, but spending points in willpower
at the expense of magic will eventually be sub-optimal, since you gain mana pool with each level
as well as from armor, but not so with magic.
Once you start fight with sword you will need to increase dexterity so that together with fade points, you have at least 25.
Keep this link handy when you do fade in mage tower
