Over the course of the series, what do you think is the meanest things the characters, either Shepard or someone else, has said?

Personally, I think when the clone says "Like you, EDI. You're nothing more than electrons pretending to be alive." I thought that was brutal.

What about you guys?

Probably weak by comparison, but I always have a hard time telling tali cerberus is getting veetor if I decide to RP that way.

The clone says that? I think I like him even more now...

I play mostly paragon but always say the meanest things to the quarians, no regrets. But even I was surprised with what the Shadow Broker says to Tali. He kind of shows interest in the other companions, but totally trashes her, haha.

I like how the clone kind of echos some of the things fans say about certain characters, one of which being Liara, which the clone says is a "college cheerleader pretending to be a soldier".

Disrespecting Wrex after shooting him dead on Virmire, telling Kirrahe/STG to just dump his body in the swamp.

It was so horrible that it was funny.

Renegade!Shepard is obnoxiously harsh to squad and crew in ME1 & 2. It's not even for legitimate, disciplinary reasons either, it's like he/she's just chewing people out for the sake of it. Paragon!Shepard with Mordin is also pretty bad, though.

Yeah, I felt kind of mean playing a Paragon on Mordin's LM. There were a couple of Paragon choices I couldn't pick.

Lol I forgot all about the first one. I almost never have Wrex die. As for Mordin, I avoid most "paragon" dialogue with him, because it just seems so unjustly judgmental.

Well, the clone is more or less correct.

I never understood why most characters didn't stand up for themselves when Shepard was being a jerk. Spinless, I tell you.

What were you expecting? They weren't dancers.

Neither did I. I guess they were afraid of Shepard. Or was it "hero worship." Or I guess they figured they'd just wait it out three years because he was going to die in the end anyway.

More funny than mean, but I always liked the scene after picking up Grunt where Jacob and Miranda are concerned about the Krogan. Shepard can then say any sign of trouble and we can vent the hold. Miranda notes there are crew working in the area. Shep then asks EDI what the crew complement is of the Normandy. Looks at Miranda with this awesome shrug and expression. Miranda sighs in disgust. It's terribly mean, but hilarious.

This is sort of why I generally avoid the more smartass dialogue with the closer characters, and save it all for the ones that actually do have an aggressive response, like the batarians at the entrace of Omega, the turians planning to rob people in the Afterlife VIP room, etc.. It just isn't as fun when the characters don't push back.

Zaeed's story, about the girl his comrades equipped with a grenade-necklace to "seduce" an enemy guard. One of the few times even he acknowledges something terrible unprovoked.

"You're an Ardat-Yakshi Falere, I can't risk you leaving this planet."
Opting to shoot Samara's daughter after her mother decides to kill herself is about as unnecessarily dickish as it got.

And people have already mentioned Paragon Shepard with Mordin. The way it's done came just came across as self-righteous to me.

Not healing the Salarian who just gunned down by mechs, during the beginning of Thane's mission.

It's so mean I let out a laugh.. couldn't help myself. It's mean in an absurd way.

Well I guess considering the default Shepard was the "renegade" Shepard, I guess Shepard did deserve death in the end. Those red eyes were precious. I kept waiting for renegade Shepard to get up out of that pile of rubble with a metal skull and the red eyes. Who said that was the real Shepard?

I feel this is the right place to mention how much I love the Renegade path during the very first dialogue with Ash aboard the Normandy; especially with my canon Colonist/Ruthless background. Always have to smirk when Ashley carefully adds "...well, that's just to say I'm glad you're on our side."

While my character mostly acts Paragon, that's the exact way I'm picturing Shepard to be like when he's speaking Renegade - cold, experienced and oddly balanced. Sadly, as previously stated, too many Renegade answers seem to be there just for the sake of being a dick.

Yeah. Another funny thing is how Zaeed is basically described the same way. Chambers says something along the lines of "For a man who's seen so much violence, he's oddly well adjusted.."

I wrote a very pragmatic Shepard FF. This would have been what I would have considered renegade lines. None of them are there for being the b*tch or the dick. There's a purpose behind every one of them.

The meanest I can think of is scolding Kelly Chambers in ME3 over giving TIM information about Shepard and crew. If you do this she becomes depressed and swallows a cyanide pill. Yikes.
