I'd be a Tevinter librarian. All that arcane knowledge in one place, and at my disposal.

Considering my Hispanic heritage, tanned skin and short height, probably an elf from Antiva. I wouldn't be half as cool as Zevran though. Possibly a bard.

While Orsino did aid a serial killer in Kirkwall with his necromany research but it was Meredith who had plans for commiting mass genocide against the mages of the Circle prior to Anders blowing up the Chantry. Can you not blame Orsino for doing what he did?

Oh and Orsino wasn't suppose to become a bad guy, but Bioware thought that they needed to throw in another boss to fight.... poor decision on their part.

I like it how "Orsino turning evil and mad" is a poor decision, but "Meredith turning evil and mad" is not.

Meredith was a resonable person before the idol. Strict, but not bad.

And the RoA might very well have been waranted (Anders blowing up the Chantry would just be the final drop in the ocean). Kirkwall was a cespool...for everyone. Corrupted mages, corrupted templars, corrupted guard, corrupted officials.

And any hope of this thread not descending into mages vs templars can be seen drifting off into the sunset.

A Rivaini lore-keeper, if possible, or at the very least some sort scholar with emphasis on literature. I mean, being a mage and apprentice to a Seer would be the ideal situation, but considering the Annulment at Dairsmuid... I doubt that particular occupation is still viable. And if it is, it would be all KINDS of illicit.
Although, really thinking about it, chances are good I'd just be some poor schmuck trying my luck with some smugglers on Llomerryn and getting myself offed on the first day due to my lack of street savvy.

Yeah, you're right. Sorry.

you need to come over to the Lavish Brothel and relaxImage IPB

So I'm not invited to this lavish brothal of yours? What is it only for pro Templars? No room for mages?

listen magey pants my brothel has a unique fondness for mages especially those that as I have said before can do *ahem special lightning tricks. its a place to enjoy, not bicker unless your into the big bad templer and naughty mage scenario and that will cost you extraImage IPB

Orsino
chose to hide him instead of doing something such as, I don't know,
telling a pro-Mage Hawke or the rebel Mages, or even hiring an assassin, so yes, I blame him. And he still helped a
clearly unhinged man in his research in the first place.

I suppose Orsino gets the blame for that one, but what prompted him to discover new art of magic? Orsino's motivations were probably driven by Meredith.

I wouldn't exactly call Orsino "evil" and mad a poor decision on his part. He was driven mad by Meredith. If you were in his shoes and were forced to comply with Meredith who despises your kind due to personal history, and had to work with this woman... wouldn't it drive you insane? Even to the point of becoming a blood mage? Remember Orsino could not just stand up and tell her "I quit" he was a prisoner of the Chantry just like the rest of the mages in Circle of Magi. Once you become the First Enchanter theirs no such thing as walking out..... unless if they want to turn apostate.

Meredith was hungry for power even prior to the idol. She knew about it, and bought it off of Varric's brother. She was already crazy back then. Cullen even admits that since your arrival Meredith closed herself off from the rest of society. She was already getting started.

Mages don't wear pants. We wear robes instead ;) And what is this? Costing me extra?  People actually pay more for this "service" eh? You must enjoy rippping them off since this service is provided to us back in Circle tower in Feralden for free ;) Some of those Templars my hate us for who we are, but they can't resist our charming good looks ;)

Hmm... wait are you applying as to be one of my "employees" if so you would be wearing less than a robe. I believe in giving my clients a fair view in what they are purchasing.Image IPB If you are asking as a "patron" It would only cost extra for the naughty mage, bad Templar scenario ... sheesh, different services different pricing.

I think I'd rather be the assistant for whatsherface, the curator who dealt in rare artifacts.  Dusty old religious codices are right up my alley.  :o

I'd be a surface Dwarf mercenary taking Dalish captive to sell into service at brothels.

Also, killing Apostates for bounties.

You never know...

They do have all the skills necessary to live without having to rely on manufactured goods or live in big cities. They know how to live off the land, hunting game and gatehering vegetation for food. They have a crafter to make everything they need that isn't naturally grown.

Why, in the event of a shattering apocalypse that would throw the world into chaos, they are the most qualified to live without too much disruption to their daily lives already.
