i have to say though.... if the support for Mass Effect 2 is anything like the Xbox 360 version of Dragon Age Origins i will never buy it and will only consider DA:O Awakening if they fix the issues with DA:O that we have now.
just thought i should sound off

Buy BioWare games for the PC. Problem solved.
Noooooooo....the PC version has that stupid overhead view.
You can't see the combat up close and personal.
How interactive is that ???

SUPPORT????? What SUPPORT? They got our money and ran' it all comes down to Bioware being bought up by EA. BW was a very good game comany until EA glomed them. EA is know for ruining good gaming companies. They are the reason for the failure of the gaming industry. EA should be investigated for anti-trust violations and monopoly intrusions. Bill Gates where are you? LOL
Well...perhaps a smaller co. will replace Bioware if these new trends continue. They're not too big to fail.

Fortunately, they're nobody's that don't mean a whole lot in the long run. Keep up the good work while the rest of us patiently wait.

To each their own, but I have to say that this game is one of the better ones I've seen in quite some time. Good enough in fact to take my attention away from WoW; a game that has taken up 100% of my gaming time for the past two + years. Is it as good as BG? In some ways yes, in most, probably not. But then again, BG is the holy grail of CRPGs as far as i'm concerned and I'm not quite sure any game will ever quite live up to it's pedigree.
You know, I played the BG series in fits and spurts back in college, but between a social life and studying it kind of fell by the wayside for me and became unremarkable....something to fill 10 minutes here or 20 there.
Since everyone goes on abut how great it is, I decided to go acquire a copy of BG2 and give it a whirl. Wow. I just can't get int it. I think modern games have jaded me or something. I cant stand watching tiny little characters on a giant screen stumble around and wait for me to try and figure out the backwards-seeming controls, which pisses me off because I don't remember the controls seeming awkward or the characters looking so damned small. I intend to iv it another go sometime this week, but now every time I see someone o on about how great it is I wonder if thy have rose-tinted glasses, or I am just a jaded old bastard.

Elder Scrolls IV still is the best medieval RPG overall. Much more freedom there. Much more.
Totally disagree, III was much better, but lets not get into that

Oblivion was certainly nice to look at, I'll give it that.

Actually, I didn't play Elder Scrolls 3.
Graphics are a bit dated.
Is it really worth it ?

Your idea of freedom differs from mine...l use to think Oblivion was awesome until;
-Repetivie quests
-Repetive npcs[speech especially]
-Main storyline really took a dive half way in[especially when you had to close like 7 Gates in a row]
-Towns pretty much the same
Just cause you can travel doesnt make the open world that interesting...you encounter guards with the same speeches, creatures in the same areas...and ruins that always had a back door...after you found it from the inside.
More, is not always better.

The graphics are indeed daetd, although if you spend some tim with mds yu can have it looking pretty damned good. As good as sme second-string RPGs that release today (two worlds, risen, etc).\\
The main story is slightly more interesting than oblivions, but the rest of the world feels much more 'alive' and different regions have a different 'feel' to them. Also, the spells as a whole are way more interesting and diverse, IMO.

I remember playing BG2 and thinking that it was the best game ever. It is so similar to DAO in that the characters you interact with and the decisions you make change the progression of the game.
For replay value, I prefer BG1. The widescreen mod is a must. I love that game at 19 by 10. Sometimes I don't want dialogue options, I just want to fight some monsters and find and equip magic items. BG 1 is great for that.
