Ok I'm really excited about this game and it seems it's coming out in Jan 2014...that's quite soon, but here are some questions.

If I choose to be an elf am I going to be shorter than everybody else again?  This seems to be something inherited from Neverwinters Night and Baldurs Gate, elfs aren't actually shorter than humans in D&D but you made it that way and it seems that it's going to continue in DA verse.  I'd like to be a tall elf if possible.

Will it have first person view as an option?  I heard that the devs would be checking out Skyrim, one of the things about Skyrim which made it so immersive is that it has first person view it makes it feel like you're actually there.

What about classes?  Do I have to stick to one class or will I be able to mix them?  Not being able to mix classes isn't neccesarily a bad thing, but you must have alot of freedom.  Will I have to be a stereotypical warrior, mage or rogue or can I be a spellcasting warrior or an agile mage?  It's seems that you won't be able to mix classes because this will be an important part of the plot but if you can't I hope we will have a lot of freedom to create the type of class we want.

It's coming out in Fall 2014. Says so right on the official page.

Elves will probably be shorter.

First person view is probably not optional.

Dunno on the last one.

The game comes out FALL 2014.

Elves will be shorter. FPV is unlikely, but I don't think it's been touched on. And I would guess that classes will continue to be highly segregated.

I have this urge to say, "This isn't Skyrim," but I don't think that's fair. XD

1. It seems there's still no height adjustment option due to technical reasons so small elves it is again.

2. No. No, first-person. Their Skyrim comment was about more openess in the world and nothing more.

3. Still stuck to one class but hopefully they open them up a bit more with specializations like the ones in Origins and allow for a few more class builds (they removed archery and dual wielding from the warrior for example).

Fall?  That's American (or Canadian...) for autumn right?

Noooo!!! Petition for tall elves!  Well I did read somewhere that it says elves are typically shorter so maybe at least I can make an average sized elf.

Well it's not game breaking that's for sure but it would be nice.

Cheers.

As for classes, we will still have three: warrior, mages, and elves. However, unlike in DA2, you can play as a dwarf, an elf or as human. This means that the origin stories we all loved so much in DA:Origins (well, most of us ;) ) are back! And there were much rejoicing....when this news was first announced. Also, you can now play as qunari, a tal-vashoth.

As for the height of the elves, I think there's a lore reason to why elves are as short as they are in the DA universe, something about their height and immortality shrinking when coming into contact with humans. Elves are, as I see, just about the same heights as humans, maybe a tad wee bit, higher. [Dalish elves at least seem to be this way].

The release date is Fall 2014 which means Bioware still have about a year to make the game as perfect as they can. And no, you can't mix classes e.g. rogue and warrior, or mage or warrior. But maybe the arcane warrior (for mages) specialization will be back. In short, we don't know yet.

I'm thinking 'no' to the first person optional view; DA games, and Bioware games seem to be about the third person perspective; maybe it also has to do with Bioware's stance on cinematic experience....? as in going to the cinema to view a movie you also view it from a third person person perspective...

What elf is a class now? ;)  I know elves are badass but c'mon.  On a slight diversion I heard that in DA lore you don't have to be a Qunari to be a Qunari you can be converted.  I'm pretty sure when they say you can play as Qunari they mean the race, not a different race adopting Qunari teachings, interesting point though.

Aries, stop drinking in the daytime. It's Warriors, Mages and Rogues.

There are qunari of other races, but in the context of Inquisition, we're talking about the main character being a pale-skinned giant.

By the way I don't think it's right that elves got shorter due to human contact I think they became more short lived.

Sorry, of course the classes are: mages, warriors or rogues.

Sometimes my brain is speeding ahead of me and I just write what it sends to me....
I was just thinking ahead with this; I just wanted to tell that we could play as

a dwarf, an elf and a human as well as a qunari (tal-vashoth).

Anyway, I need to proofread my posts before hitting 'send'.

also, it is nighttime over here ;)

Oh man, I was really hoping it'd be fighter, magic-user, cleric, and elf.

Maybe for DA4...

First-person view is unlikely, it's just not something that Bioware games use. Elves will probably be the same as they've been in previous games. In Origins I could use swords and armour as a mage, I was just less effective with them than an actual warrior would have been.

That'd be Old School. I think Dwarf was a class in those days too.
