I just picked up NWN2 again and remembered that the WASD keys in Character Mode is broken. The Skywing Extension only stabilize the camera but not the jittery character animation - it's an eye sore in game when I use the keyboard to move my avatar  :(

What's your preferred Camera Mode to play in...and is 'point and click' the only way to play NWN2?

Or by chance, has the NWN2 community come up with new fixes to this gem of a game?

Thank you.

Nevermind guys. I just did a forum search and this topic has recently been grounded to the core by other frustrated players too :(. The engine still sucks and WASD is still broken.

Still, further inputs are welcome on your favorite Camera Mode. I haven't found one that I can decently play the game with.

I always use Exploration Mode. I can use the mouse wheel to zoom right in to examine details if I want, but usually I zoom out to the maximum extents to get a broader view of events. I like the way the camera moves with the controlled character, but doesn't insist on swivelling about to point in the same direction as them.

I also use Exploration, but I can't endorse the mouse wheel. In fact, I've almost thrown my mouse at the wall several times because of the stupid zooming unresponsiveness. There is an answer, fortunately. The arrow keys.

I also use Exploration, with the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. It's not unresponsive with my mouse.

Firstly I have disabled the camera changes when mouse hits the screen edge.
Controlling everything by keyboard needs a little practice but once mastered it’s the easier way to go I think.
Overall I only use Exploration mode using arrow buttons and PageUp & PageDown to adjust my angle

All I can say is that after years of NWN2 camera I'm insanely happy project eternity is going back to the fixed isometric view.

Exploration mode. Mouse response set high/fast to turn view when cursor hits the sides. I only use the forward key when there it's an obstruction that doesn't allow a mouse click (after transitioning). Sometimes I use the left/right arrow keys to pivot the PC (typically only while playing multiplayer). Zoom in/out is fine, could be better.

PS:  I haven't had the jitter or shuddering problems in years.  Good computer, lots of RAM, good vid card, Win 7
