If I'm playing an overpowered kit, I just stick an underpowered weapon on it to even things out a bit.

eg:
GI + GPS

I will just pretend I didn't read that

let him believe that he's right ;)

I stopped playing infiltrators in Gold PUG's a long time ago, other than that, BatSol is my favourite character overall, but it feels like cheating in gold. Plat, I'll play whatever.

I agree but that kit is too much fun. One of the more visceral kits in ME3MP.

AIU, TGI, Geth Trooper

I may make exceptions for AIU and TGI with wimpy weapons or a melee build...

No, the really good players I've played with destroy everything with any kit they choose. The thing that determines their end score is the quality of team mates they have.

Too good? No. Where some might consider a kit overpowered I think it has less to do with the kit and more to do with the experience and manifest of the players.

Only when friends twist his scrubby arm.

Not really. I have people that play with me that I know are better players than me. If I choose a certain kit like say the Talon Merc I'm still going to outscore them and it won't be close most of the time. Valkyrie with a Reegar etc can really level the playing field skill wise.

QMI. DI. GT. AIU. Paladin.

Still plays TGI but mostly for the lulz. With Harrier too.

Pretty much stopped playing all the kits that involves spamming 1 single power.

I play with the strongest characters using the strongest builds and strongest weapons very regularly. I use the juggernaut a lot. I also use the GI and krogan vanguard an awful lot, with weapons like the javelin, talon and reegar carbine.

Not in the way you mean it. The only reason that can make me not play a character is if I find it boring. This can happen for lots of reasons, among which the fact that there's never a "oh ****!" moment when I play them. Which usually means that the character is "too good", but in a very boring way, not in a killing speed way.

So, those characters would pretty much be the TGI, Proguard and the AIU. And, to a lesser degree, infiltrators in general. Reason why I hardly ever use them in standard matches.

With good players the one who (gets lucky and) reaches (most) spawns first is gonna top the board - assuming they do use good guns obviously. When players become better, kits start to get irrelevant pretty fast.

Up to a certain degree, yeah. I feel there is sort of a threshold of character/build/loadout power above which the (almost) only determining factor becomes who gets to the spawn faster, a.k.a. ME3 "skills". Basically, if you can wipe the spawn before anyone gets there, then the kit's above the threshold. And nowadays, almost all kits can be put up there with the right build/loadout.

That said, I fail to see how a Reegar Valkyrie can do anything more than average in a (very good) gold lobby. Maybe against Reapers, and I'm not even sure. Against any other faction, it's the mook killer who gets the highest score, not the Reegar Valkyrie.

No. There are lots of great options for all players to choose from.

Even the "OP" kits still get outscored all the time by non-op kits.

I have kits that I feel Im good with, but not too good to others or myself. Always room for improvment.

And if you weren't playing with them they would destroy no matter what kit they played.  This is essentially what my 2nd sentence said.  Also if you crush them with the Talon and they can pick any kit they want, you are the better player.

Not really. There are kits that I only play without equipment or only with ammo equipment on gold though. And then there are kits that are simply boring, like Kroguard and Juggernaut.
