Are there kits that you consider too good to play with?

*snip * it's the mook killer who gets the highest score.
Yeah, and you don't need powers to kill mooks quickly - only decent aim and a good weapon.
The only exception are lolnade kits, who can kill all thrash mobs in a spawn with a couple nades. However, even they have to find enough fresh spawns to exploit this.
P.S. I am talking gold here b/c - unlike Platinum - it has a healthy mix of enemy units which gives all kits the chance to play to their strengths.

I've done that too, it's good, but the Harrier is less efficient except for long range (TTK on bosses feels almost the same because of the burst weapon vs. sustained DPS advantage) and I tend to play up close and personal unless I'm stuck in a hack zone or something, so I basically lean on the Talon anyway.CrashUrStox wrote...

Yeah, I really only bring it as backup because lolwatarecooldownsonaninfiltrator. Talon is usually the go to.

I like that combo more than the hurricane backup because I'm a scrub that can't control recoil.ISHYGDDT wrote...

GI + GPS is not underpowered.
GPS on its own is underpowered.
GI is overpowered.
Combine them you get... well still overpowered, really.
But the GI is OP even with a Tempest. Not much you can do about it.

We wiped on a wave ten escort, because I died from a banshee, and the rest of them were utterly usless, even though they were playing "better kits, with OP weapons"

The last thing I want is a newer player to stumble onto BSN and believe the hype about 'OP' kits .. then play their underpowered kit poorly because they didn't want to be considered a 'noob' for using a TGI/AIU etc.
The only truly OP thing in this game is player skill

It's not about winning, but about fun. A few days ago i had a series of 3 of those rare gold games where everyone is a good player. Games were 16~17mn time attacks. After the first map, the other guys saw their squadmates were better than the usual scrubbernauts, and starting using fully-geared try-hard kits (TGI+Harrier, HSol+Claymoar, TSol+BP Punisher), which essentially spoiled most of the challenge out of the game.Tokenusername wrote...
Ya, I hate winning.
It's nice once in a while, but all the time? Hell no.
I won't play infiltrators on gold myself, somewhat more on plat, but will still limit myself. GI+Javelin is a pleasure to play, but it makes everything so easy, even on plat.
I tend to hesitate playing with some other kits (on gold) i'm good with, mostly biotics, though the list also includes HSol or TSol and a few others. Also, while i do equip lv.IV ammo on gold (150+ of each), i won't use weapon consumables or cyclonic modulators.

I would've done that just to see what kind of time we could get. I've done that with BSN folks before (I was the PUG). Then again I find destroying the enemy fun. A game over 25 minutes is boring to me.

Also you think fun is all that matters but you won't use fun kits because they make them game too easy?
