The technical aspects are impressive given the limitations. I disagree with what the mod does on a conceptual level. No choices or attempts to make the player stop and think (clumsily executed as they might have been). But what sets me into an absolute fury is the attitude of it's supporters for reasons mentioned abovethread.

The problems begin when people stop claiming it as a warm and fuzzies mod and start claiming it as an actual ending.

As it is, I'd say the mod is actually better than the original ending. It's inferior to the EC because of the lack of explanations, closure and choices, that much is beyond question methinks.

On the other hand, as I said above, for me it's less of a ''warm and fuzzies'' mod (other than the Geth living and Shep explicitely being reunited it's the same as vanilla Destroy) and more of a ''get rid of the Catalyst stupidity'' mod, for which I'm personally willing to sacrifice choice, closure and production values.

Also, has someone else has said, as it is presented in the game Synthesis is even more of a ''warm and fuzzies'' solution than MEHEM is. So I don't understand how that argument can be used against it.

I don't hate it, but I resent the implication (and by implication I mean continual shouting) that the ending I got wasn't happy.

Now now, to be fair, the story of MGS is a relative masterpiece compared to Mass Effect.

More "baffled" that they're still butthurt over the ending and haven't moved on. MEHEM is just an electronic version of sticking one's fingers in their ears and saying "lalalalala".
